Mississippi Dawn comes off a good win at Ascot, and we’re backing her to double down on that effort.
The four-year-old mare by Pierro got the better of The Crimson Pirate, who is a nice type, so the form checks out well for BM66 grade.
55kg is a steal in the weights, so back her in the opener.

Gunning for back-to-back wins is Refemme No Angel, who proved too strong for the opposition at Belmont last time out.
The three-year-old son of Harry Angel turned his form around nicely, and it was good to see betting support come for him.
Staying at 1400m is ideal, so look for a betting push.
Stake: 1 Unit
What a Winner has yet to taste defeat in three fresh up starts, and we’re picking him to remain perfect on Saturday.
Boasting four wins from six starts overall, the son of Yes Yes Yes should be included in picks, and he owns a win at Ascot.
We expect him to be one of the better backed runners on the card.
Stake: 2 Units
Coming off a win at Belmont is Glanced, who scored a big upset at $26. Punters won’t get those odds here, but a nice price is still available.
The four-year-old mare by Pierro is bred to win a few races, and she has shown all her form early in her preparation.
She is a runner worth sticking with at his level.
Stake: 1 Unit
Repossession comes off a Group 1 effort behind Libertad and Overpass, so that form should hold up well at this level.
The unbeaten runner will always attract attention in markets, but this four-year-old has five wins from 10 starts, and he has contested harder races.
Look for him to settle back and flash home late.
Stake: 2 Units
Magna’s Choice comes off a good third placing behind Mississippi Dawn, which could be franked earlier on the card.
We see that race as a good form guide, and the four-year-old gets in with only 55.5kg, so he could have beaten the handicapper.
Dropping to 1500m from 1800m shouldn’t worry him too much.
Stake: 1 Unit
On the quick back-up is Timeless Gem, who ran fourth last Saturday, and it looked as though he needed the run.
The four-year-old son of I Am Immortal won both races last preparation at Pinjarra and Bunbury, and he’s up to this level of racing.
Barrier three with a light weight is enough to take him close.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Luvnwar should be better for three runs this preparation, including a tidy third placing last time out.
The five-year-old mare owns five wins and five placings from 15 starts, and although yet to win at Ascot, it’s only a matter of time.
She won her only start over the mile, which is another positive.
Stake: 1.5 Units

Looking to score back-to-back wins is Santanova, who dug deep to win at $15 odds last time out.
The four-year-old mare by Santos owns four wins and four placings from 11 starts overall, so her record speaks for itself.
She is well worth including in horse racing picks.
Stake: 1.5 Units
