Ascot horse racing tips

Race 1. (15:05) Tourism WA Trophy (1000m)

#8 – Ciao Luna – Bet @ Sportsbet

The two-year-old filly has attracted the attention of jockey William Pike and that’s a good sign on debut.

She won a three-horse trial at Belmont Park before running second in a trial last time out. Pike didn’t ride her in the trials, so it’s an interesting addition.

It could pay to take notice and watch betting moves.

Race 2. (15:45) Tabtouch Better Your Bet 1MW (1200m)

#11 – Wednesday – Bet @ Sportsbet

Wednesday could win on Saturday and punters should get value odds on race day.

The five-year-old comes off a win at Belmont and she was too good for them, scoring by 1.5 lengths.

Dropping in weight to 54kg is ideal and that brings her into contention, so watch for each-way odds.

Race 3. (16:25) Amelia Park BM72 (1100m)

#4 – Written Matter – Bet @ Sportsbet

Written Matter is searching for his fourth win from five starts and we wouldn’t put it past him.

The son of Written Tycoon comes off a win at Ascot against a smart field and he’s good enough to continue his winning run.

Being unbeaten at Ascot adds confidence to our selection.

Race 4. (17:05) Tour Edge BM66 (2200m)

#4 – Reliable Star – Bet @ Sportsbet

Reliable Star is getting close to posting another win after consecutive second placings at Ascot.

The Adam Durrant-trained four-year-old owns two wins and six placings from 11 starts, so she’s a classy type on her day.

Getting the inside draw with Pike riding should drive her odds down.

Race 5. (17:45) Glenroy Chaff Scahill Stakes (1400m)

#6 – Comfort Me @ $3.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Comfort Me scored consecutive wins before finishing second behind Western Empire last start, which is a fantastic form guide.

The five-year-old finished four lengths behind the potential superstar in the Railway, so dropping back from Group 1 grade suits.

We’re surprised at the odds after we priced him at $2.25.

Race 6. (18:25) Sir Ernest Lee Steere Stakes (1400m)

#2 – Flying Missile @ $4.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Looking to record consecutive wins is Flying Missile, who owns five wins and five placings from 12 starts.

The three-year-old filly by Cable Bay loves racing at Ascot and her win last start was a gallant effort. She got the better of Liwa by a nose and a repeat looms.

The each-way odds are worth taking.

Race 7. (19:05) Ascend Sales Jungle Dawn (1400m)

#9 – Bright Diamond @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Bright Diamond could shine bright on Saturday as the well-backed mare is the one to beat.

She wasn’t far behind Angelic Miss last time out at Ascot and she will be better for the race fitness under her belt.

She owns four wins from 10 starts and it’s another good ride for Pike.

Race 9. (20:20) Crown Perth 1MW (1600m)

#2 – Expressionist – Bet @ Sportsbet

William Pike and Adam Durrant could end the day on a high with Expressionist, who won at Ascot last time out.

The five-year-old gelding enjoyed the rise in distance, and although he drops to the mile here, he has the class edge.

Barrier three is ideal and punters could get value odds on race day.
