Ascot horse racing tips
Race 1. (15:24) Tourism WA Trophy (1000m)
#1 – Starfield Impact @ $1.70 – Bet Now
Starfield Impact is coming off a commanding win at Ascot and she should go close to going back-to-back.
The two-year-old by Demerit scored by 2.8 lengths last start and this field is no harder to beat.
That bodes well for this run but punters will need to take the short odds on offer.
Race 2. (16:04) Tab Touch 1MW (1100m)
#5 – Zenaze @ $7 – Bet Now
The four-year-old gelding has won back-to-back races leading into this and is paying a very good price.
This’ll Testya is a the very short favourite but punters will find better value with Zenaze, which scored by two lengths two back and scored narrowly last start.
Drawing barrier 10 could make it tough over this distance but he has been well backed to win and should run accordingly.
Race 3. (16:44) Amelia Park BM72 (1600m)
#8 – Midnight Sky @ $3.40 – Bet Now
It doesn’t usually take the Durrant/Pike combination long to get off the mark and they team up with Midnight Sky here.
The six-year-old mare is coming off a tough run for eighth last start but he should get a better run in transit.
Drawing barrier four and carrying only 54.5kg should see her fighting out the finish.
Race 4. (17:24) Quayclean BM72 (1200m)
#6 – Rebel Knight @ $3.50 – Bet Now
Rebel Knight is a three-time winner from 19 starts and he also has seven placings on his record.
The four-year-old is coming off a close run at Ascot where he finished only 1.3 lengths behind the winner. That should be a good form race and punters are getting nice odds for this.
He won’t take long to get back into winning form and the $3.50 on offer makes him worth including in win selections.
Race 5. (18:00) Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Stakes (1400m)
#2 – Massimo @ $1.80 – Bet Now
Massimo is shooting for four consecutive wins and he looks a good chance of achieving that feat.
The Durrant-trained three-year-old has recorded all three wins by less than a length, but he has been strong in all.
He’s a son of Sessions which gets the services of William Pike and although the odds are short, they’re warranted.
$1.80 will likely stay firm throughout the day.
Race 6. (18:35) Jungle Dawn Classic (1400m)
#2 – Electric Light @ $2.35 – Bet Now
We’re going with another Durrant/Pike runner and punters are following suit. The five-year-old mare looked good when winning by a length last time out at Ascot.
She picked them up nicely in the straight and that should translate to many more wins this season.
She’s a professional winner of nine from 20 starts and with a record like that, we’re not surprised at the short odds.
Race 7. (19:10) Scahill Stakes (1400m)
#12 – Flirtini @ $2.20 – Bet Now
Flirtini is a classy filly which ran very nicely for fifth behind Hey Doc in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes.
Dropping back from that top grade is going to help her chances and she faces a significantly easier target here.
Most of the money has been placed on the talented mare and she deserves all the attention against a field of this nature.
Race 9. (20:30) Crown Perth BM66 (2100m)
#8 – British Bessy @ $4 – Bet Now
British Bessy needs to rebound after running eighth last start but she’s facing an easier task here.
The five-year-old mare looked good prior to that when scoring by 1.8 lengths on this track and we wouldn’t be surprised to see her win again.
Punters are getting nice odds for the win and those odds could shorten come race day.
