Ascot horse racing tips

Race 1. (15:23) Autumn Ascot Maiden (1400m)

#1 – Drama Free – Bet @ Sportsbet

Drama Free comes off a solid effort to finish third at Ascot and he could score an overdue win.

The four-year-old gelding has run some solid placings at Ascot and he owns good barrier speed, so drawing barrier 11 shouldn’t be an issue.

Punters should expect each-way odds.

Race 2. (15:58) Kirin Megumi BM62 (1000m)

#1 – Charleton Eddie – Bet @ Sportsbet

Charleton Eddie comes off two impressive second placings and he doesn’t need to improve to take out this race.

The three-year-old gelding owns three wins and three placings on this track, which bodes well for another top effort.

2kg comes off his back and he should be tough to hold out.

Race 3. (16:38) Peoplestart Plate (1000m)

#1 – Featherweight – Bet @ Sportsbet

Featherweight is on debut after three trial placings and we’re expecting a top debut effort.

The Daniel Morton-trained two-year-old finished second at the Belmont trials last start and he was only a nose behind the winner.

Drawing the inside barrier is ideal and he should be right around the mark.

Race 4. (17:18) Seacorp 1MW (1100m)

#5 – Dark Mission – Bet @ Sportsbet

Dark Mission scored a fresh up win at Ascot and although beaten since, she is good enough to handle this field.

The Williams-trained four-year-old owns four wins from 12 starts and two of those have come at Ascot.

That form is good enough to win again and punters could get each-way odds.

Race 5. (17:58) Tabtouch Westspeed 0MW (1500m)

#1 – Bombay Style – Bet @ Sportsbet

The five-year-old gelding comes off back-to-back wins at Geraldton and he has scored on this track in the past.

He is a six-time winner from only 20 starts and although taking on a tough field here, he has plenty of upside.

3kg comes off his back and that bodes well.

Race 6. (18:32) Amelia Park BM72 (1400m)

#4 – Resortman – Bet @ Sportsbet

Resortman is a two-time winner already this preparation and he’s good enough to add another win to his record.

The five-time winner scored by a nose at Pinjarra last start and we are expecting form out of that race to stack up nicely.

Chris Parnham rides and that should give punters confidence.

Race 7. (19:12) Stork Technical Services BM66 (2200m)

#13 – Unreliable – Bet @ Sportsbet

Unreliable has improved with two runs under its belt this campaign and it looks ready to strike.

The five-year-old gelding owns a win and a placing from nine starts and the son of Reliable Man should pay value odds with bookmakers.

2kg comes off his back and that is a big help.

Race 8. (19:50) Detonator Stakes (1800m)

#16 – Montelena @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Montelena rattled off four consecutive wins last campaign and she was close enough fourth last time out.

The four-year-old mare has yet to fire at Ascot, but we’re expecting her form to improve this time around. She should handle the track with more experience under her belt.

53kg on the back makes her a winning threat.

Race 9. (20:30) Crown Sports Bar 1MW (1600m)

#9 – What About Moses – Bet @ Sportsbet

What About Moses has been in consistent form throughout this campaign, which includes consecutive wins.

The five-year-old gelding has yet to finish worse than third from four starts at Ascot and he typically pays each-way odds with bookmakers.

Punters should expect another tidy effort on Saturday.
