Ascot horse racing tips

Race 1. (14:02) Gourmet Takeaway Plate (1100m)

#1 – Sassy Trader – Bet Now

Sassy Trader was a good winner on debut at Ascot and he could win again. The two-year-old sat on the pace and kicked too strongly to score narrowly.

Having winning experience helps and based on his breeding, he should be able to handle any conditions thrown at him.

Race 2. (14:42) Perth Racing at Home BM58 (1000m)

#1 – Amelia’s Contraire – Bet Now

Simon Miller lines up the three-year-old filly that was good when winning last start. The daughter of Hinchinbrook won by two lengths and she plenty in her favour.

William Pike takes the ride and with three wins from eight starts, she has class on her side. We’re expecting money to come for her throughout the week and she could start short.

Race 3. (15:22) Tabtouch Westspeed 0MW (1400m)

#8 – Snippy Miss – Bet Now

Snippy Miss is searching for a win after three consecutive second placings. The Adam Durrant-trained filly owns only one win, but she also has eight placings.

Drawing barrier 12 makes it tough but she usually runs well at Ascot and we wouldn’t be surprised to see her winning.

Each-way odds should be on offer from bookmakers.

Race 4. (16:02) Quayclean 1MW (1000m)

#9 – Indigo Wild – Bet Now

Indigo Wild hasn’t done much wrong throughout her career, which includes a win and eight minor placings.

The daughter of Viscount was only a length behind the winner last month and having that track experience is ideal.

She runs with only 55kg on her back and that bodes well.

Race 5. (16:40) Glenroy Chaff 1MW (1800m)

#2 – That’s Funny Az – Bet Now

That’s Funny Az has won three of his last five starts and it’s tough to look away from that form. He won by a narrow margin on this track last start and he could go back-to-back.

That win came over this distance and although he’s up in weight, he does get some relief from Jade McNaught.

Watch for any betting moves on race day.

Race 6. (17:15) Happy 40th T Follows BM71 (1000m)

#2 – Condor Heroes – Bet Now

Condor Heroes has struck winning form after scoring back-to-back and comprehensive wins. The five-year-old is unbeaten in Perth and he scored by over four lengths last start.

It bodes well for another good run here and he could remain unbeaten at Ascot from three attempts. Expect bookmakers to have him well-found in markets.

Race 7. (17:50) Crown Perth BM66 (1400m)

#2 – Mankind – Bet Now

Mankind gets the services of William Pike and he’s coming off a tidy third placing on this track. The four-year-old has a good record on this track and he looks ready to strike.

There isn’t much to this field but having Pike in the saddle is a good sign and it could result in a win for punters.

Race 8. (18:25) Amelia Park Roma Cup (1200m)

#10 – Angelic Ruler – Bet Now

Angelic Ruler is a classy type that has finished in the money in 16 of her 18 starts. She scored by a length last start and she owns placings behind the likes of Savatiano and Haut Brion Her.

The likes of Black Heart Bart and Vega Magic are the old heads of this field, but Angelic Ruler is the runner with the most upside.

William Pike rides and she’ll be tough to beat.

Race 9. (18:55) Western Racepix BM78 (1400m)

#3 – Pushin’ Shapes – Bet Now

Pushin’ Shapes appeared to be travelling late start but the jockey showed no vigour and is currently facing a lengthy suspension.

Punters get another chance to back the eight-time winner and although his form could read better, he’s worth a chance at odds.
