Ascot horse racing tips

Race 1. (14:19) Morley Growers Market BM72 (1800m)

#2 – Notorious One – Bet @ Sportsbet

Consistency isn’t there for Notorious One, but he owns four wins from eight starts and two have come on this track.

The five-year-old son of Animal Kingdom carries only 54.5kg and drawing barrier two is ideal. He should be right in the mix and his turn-of-foot can be superior.

Watch for a market push.

Race 2. (14:59) Tabtouch Westspeed 0MW (1400m)

#2 – Born to Try – Bet @ Sportsbet

Born to Try scored a win on this track two back and although beaten last start, it was only by a half-length.

The four-year-old mare has yet to run worse than third on this track and punters should get each-way odds on Saturday.

Expect another competitive effort in this company.

Race 3. (15:39) Happy 70th Terry Brennan Plate (1100m)

#4 – Written Exceed – Bet @ Sportsbet

Written Exceed scored an impressive win on debut at Ascot and he’s every chance of going back-to-back.

The two-year-old scored by 1.5 lengths and he looks to have a bright future, so we wouldn’t be underestimating him here.

Look for a positive betting move on race day.

Race 4. (16:19) Amelia Park BM62 (1200m)

#1 – Chantorque – Bet @ Sportsbet

Chantorque is a speedy filly that owns four wins from seven starts and she will appreciate the fitness after running fourth last start.

She was only 1.1 lengths behind them and it was a good hit-out fresh up. It will do her plenty of good and this race is there for the taking.

Expect plenty of money to come her way.

Race 5. (16:55) Events at Ascot 1MW (1000m)

#1 – Panzdown – Bet @ Sportsbet

Simon Miller lines up the in-form three-year-old gelding that has rattled off consecutive wins at Bunbury and Ascot.

The son of Panzer Division won by a half-length and he showed a good turn-of-foot, so he should be tough to beat in this grade.

It’s not the strongest form race and he looks likely to take advantage.

Race 6. (17:25) Crown Perth BM66 (1200m)

#1 – Moschard – Bet @ Sportsbet

Moschard is getting closer to a win after posting three consecutive placings. The six-year-old owns only one win at Ascot, but he was only a length behind the winner here last start.

He loves the distance and although it’s not the easiest field he’s ever faced, we expect a solid run at each-way odds.

Expect double-figure odds on race day.

Race 7. (17:55) Eurythmic Stakes (2150m)

#4 – Marocchino – Bet @ Sportsbet

Marocchino is gunning for his fourth consecutive win and we wouldn’t be betting against him on Saturday.

The five-time winner loves racing at Ascot and he has been winning big races, so another stakes win could be on the horizon.

Chris Parnham rides and he should be safe in markets.

Race 8. (18:25) Cannaponics 1MW (1600m)

#4 – Cuban Twist – Bet @ Sportsbet

Cuban Twist owns five wins and three placings from 12 starts, so she has made a nice start to her career.

The daughter of Blackfriars is a two-time winner at the distance and although yet to win at Ascot, she has been close.

Drawing the inside barrier is ideal and punters should be confident.

Race 9. (19:00) Conquer Cystic Fibrosis BM72 (1500m)

#5 – Creator – Bet @ Sportsbet

Creator is searching for three consecutive wins after scoring at Ascot his last two. The four-year-old is in fine form and he doesn’t face a much harder field.

The son of Redoute’s Choice is always around the mark and he gets in with only 56.5kg on his back, which is ideal.

We expect another top effort.
