Ascot Racing Tips for Saturday, May 9th 2026

We have expert betting tips for racing at Ascot on Saturday, which includes nine races at the premier meeting.

Punters get good value odds for the Western Australian meeting, and we have betting tips for every race on the card.

Race 1. (13:39) Tabtouch Westspeed Platinum (1600m)

#3 – Aurora Queen

Shooting for three consecutive wins is Aurora Queen, who scored at Pinjarra before winning at Albury last time out.

The four-year-old mare by War Chant didn’t fire at her only run at Ascot, but she has improved nicely since then.

Look for a betting push on race day.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 2. (14:14) City of Belmont Rogan Josh Stakes (2100m)

#5 – Rock ‘N’ the Jam @ $1.65

Most of the money has come for Rock ‘N’ the Jam, who won his last two starts at Ascot, and he’s set to make it three on the bounce.

The four-year-old son of Awesome Rock owns four wins from six starts at Ascot, and he could be a nice type for the future.

Include him in horse racing multi bets.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 3. (14:49) MC Polytrack BM72 (1000m)

#4 – Kay Tee Why

Kay Tee Why could run at each-way odds following a fourth at Ascot, and there is improvement to come.

The four-year-old son of Nicconi is a three-time winner at Ascot from eight starts, and barrier four should give him a chance to win.

He is fitter now, so he should be right in the mix.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 4. (15:26) Croser Sparkling Plate (1000m)

#1 – He’s a Machino

Coming off a run at Group 2 level is He’s a Machino, who ran sixth in a tough race, and he’ll find this much easier.

The two-year-old colt by Machino owns a win and two placings from four starts and getting the inside draw with 3kg off his back helps.

We expect a top effort, and money should come for him on race day.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 5. (16:04) Thank You Craig Staples BM66 (1800m)

#6 – Westbound

Westbound has yet to finish worse than third from five starts, which includes three wins.

The three-year-old son of Toronado was too good for them at Ascot last time out, and a repeat could be on the cards this Saturday.

55kg on his back makes him tough to beat in an even field.

Stake: 1.5 Units

Race 6. (16:45) Mitch Wake 30th Birthday Handicap (1000m)

#3 – Swingman

A model of consistency is Swingman, who owns a win and four second placings this preparation.

The three-year-old son of Brutal has yet to win at Ascot from seven attempts, but he has been close with four second placings.

2kg comes off his back, and it should take him close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 7. (17:20) City of Belmont BM66 (1200m)

#7 – Hot and High

Looking to remain unbeaten after winning all three starts last campaign is Hot and High, who won by three lengths in listed company last start.

The talented filly by Too Darn Hot has prepared for her return with two good trials, and we expect a solid betting move on race day.

She could be an exciting type, so she’s worth backing.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 8. (18:00) Lawn Pride Australia BM72 (1400m)

#9 – Malletier

Malletier owns two wins and three placings from five starts this preparation, so he has form on the board.

The four-year-old son of Nicconi has yet to finish worse than third in four starts at Ascot, which is an attractive record.

The inside draw with 2kg off his back should take him close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 9. (18:40) Peters Investments 1MW (1400m)

#3 – Snow God

Snow God could sneak under the radar after placing at his last two starts, and an overdue win could come.

The four-year-old son of Playing God owns two wins and five placings from 12 starts overall, and this field is there for the taking.

We’re happy to include him in picks at the odds.

Stake: 1 Unit
