Australasian Oaks Form Guide & Tips
1. Personal ($8) Bet @ Sportsbet
Personal didn’t fire last start but she has been facing tough opposition throughout he career.
The Lindsay Park-trained filly is a two-time winner from 12 starts and she is rarely far away, so include in first-four selections.
2. Chica Fuerte ($27) Bet @ Sportsbet
A winner two back and if she’s at her best, she could be tough to stop. Punters get big odds and they could be worth taking for first-four selections.
3. Tokorangi ($16) Bet @ Sportsbet
The Kiwi scored a win at Ellerslie two back before finishing seventh in the New Zealand Derby.
That isn’t the worst form for this race and we’re not surprised by the bookmakers’ odds of $16. She enters calculations and a win wouldn’t surprise.
4. Hela ($5) Bet @ Sportsbet
She is an unbeaten runner that has won all seven starts to date. Those have come in Tasmania, so she will need to rise in class for this race.
Punters have come for her confidently, so we wouldn’t be leaving her off our tickets.
5. Llanacord ($27) Bet @ Sportsbet
A Kiwi runner that scored back-to-back wins earlier this preparation. We’re not sure if she’s up to this level of opposition.
Barrier 16 doesn’t help her cause and although the Kiwis breed them tough, she is a step below the best in New Zealand.
6. Ecumenical (Best Roughie – $23) Bet @ Sportsbet
There was plenty to like about her second placing at Morphettville last start behind Tyche Goddess.
It should be one of the better form guides for the race and we like her chances of finishing in the first three home.
With some luck from barrier 15, Ecumenical has upside.
7. Tyche Goddess ($19) Bet @ Sportsbet
Won the main lead-up race to the Australasian Oaks after getting a late split. She had a good run in transit, but the win shouldn’t be ignored.
Barrier five is ideal and she should get another dream run from barrier five.
8. Ripper Rita ($31) Bet @ Sportsbet
Ripper Rita held off a talented field at Caulfield last start, but we’re not sure if she’s Group 1 level.
A late betting move would be a good sign but we can’t see that happening.
9. Sirileo Miss ($18) Bet @ Sportsbet
She doesn’t know how to run a bad race and consistency is often rewarded in this race.
The Symon Wilde-trained filly gets the addition of Craig Williams in the saddle and she handles all conditions.
Capable of beating this field at her best.
10. Flexible ($15) Bet @ Sportsbet
Flexible was good enough to score consecutive wins earlier this prep and a runner from this stable can’t be left out.
She gets the services of William Pike and although she has drifted in the betting, punters are now getting a good price.
12. Brookspire (Best Each Way – $9.50) Bet @ Sportsbet
A quality Sydney-based filly that kicked away for an easy victory at Caulfield last time out.
She has been set for this race and we give the Waller-trained runner every chance of scoring at each-way odds.
Having Michael Walker in the saddle is ideal.
13. Steinem (Best Bet – $4.20) Bet @ Sportsbet
Steinem should have won last start but she was forced to make a lengthy and wide run around the outside.
She won’t have to go around a runner off the inside draw and this filly could be a rising star of the staying ranks.
$4.20 is a value price and she goes clearly on top.
14. Flying Mascot ($41) Bet @ Sportsbet
She scored nicely fresh up but has been held in check since. A former Kiwi that shouldn’t figure in the finish.
15. Miss Gobcain ($126) Bet @ Sportsbet
Triple-figure odds available and rightfully so. She won’t come into contention.
16. Media Award ($23) Bet @ Sportsbet
Comes into this race with back-to-back wins but this is a massive rise in class. Runs at generous odds but this race might come a bit soon for her.
17. Americain Angel ($17) Bet @ Sportsbet
Bred to handle the distance and she rarely runs a bad race. Bookmakers offer a value price and she enters multiples.
