2019 Australasian Oaks Form Guide & Tips
Aloisia (Best Bet – $7.50) – BET NOW
Class is on the side of Aloisia, which has been taking on the best middle-distance age group stars in Australia.
The three-year-old filly finished third in the Vinery Stud Stakes behind Hiyaam before running on late in the Australian Oaks.
The favoured runners in this field don’t have the same form and bookmakers are offering a great price for the talented type.
Bring Me Roses ($11) – BET NOW
Has scored only one win but it has Group 1 form and that shouldn’t be overlooked.
The Tony McEvoy-trained filly finished fourth in the Australian Oaks over 2400m and the drop back in distance isn’t going to help her chances, but we wouldn’t be ruling her out as a winning hope.
Miss Admiration (Best Roughie – $18) – BET NOW
She took awhile to score her first win after eight starts but the 1.5-length win at Ballarat was full of class.
Since then the daughter of Sebring has finished ninth in the Vinery Stud Stakes and third in the Australian Oaks. The form out of the Oaks is going to stack up nicely and she’s an improving type.
Drawing barrier four will allow her to find her feet and get a good run in transit.
Think Bleue ($7) – BET NOW
Think Bleue is a rising star after winning four of her last five starts but rising to Group 1 grade might have come too early.
The Darren Weir-trained filly by So You Think scored a tough win at Flemington last time out and that was a run of a filly heading places.
Drawing barrier 15 is against it and we think it’s a solid each way chance.
Sopressa ($5) – BET NOW
That was an impressive 4.3-length win last start on this track but does she deserve to be a $5 favourite?
Certainly not and considering that she has yet to face any opposition of note, there’s better value elsewhere in this race.
The inside draw helps and she is a top five chance but punters aren’t getting any sort of value at the odds.
Pleasuring ($17) – BET NOW
The third Weir-trained filly which showed her best form in Tasmania.
5.5 lengths behind Sopressa last start and it’s hard to see her form improving enough to be a factor here.
Savacool ($5) – BET NOW
As consistent as they come with six starts for three wins and three second placings.
The daughter of Savabeel was a half-length winner at Caulfield last time out and although she hasn’t taken on this level of opposition to date, she deserves respect.
$5 is a touch short and punters could get a better price on the day.
Pretty To Sea ($35) – BET NOW
Has upset claims at the odds but this looks too tough for the filly.
Nice placing behind Luvaluva last start but that form didn’t stack up.
Temple Of Bel (Best Each Way – $11) – BET NOW
Solid second placing at Caulfield last start and although it hasn’t taken on the best company to date, she looks to have the most upside.
The rise to the mile last start resulted in an improved run and with Craig Williams taking the ride, she represents value for each way punters.
Velocita ($21) – BET NOW
Velocita is drifting in the market after running third at Randwick and she possessed good form, but she would need to find a length to win here.
She does get the run from a good barrier but consider only as a place chance in this.
Semari ($15) – BET NOW
The Busuttin/Young stable is flying with their age-group runners this season and Semari has a winning hope in this.
She has won three of her last four starts and her recent 2.5-length win suggested that she could take the next step.
Sheezdashing ($17) – BET NOW
Back-to-back placings coming into this but she might need winning form to show her best here.
Drawn well and she could run in the first five with some luck.
Earth Angel ($26) – BET NOW
Drifting in the betting and her form would be the telling factor.
Yet to win from five starts this campaign and she would need to find big improvement.
Pure Scot ($31) – BET NOW
Better run for fourth last time out and this distance should help, but she shouldn’t threaten them here.
Top eight result would be a good effort.
Jungle Fish ($27) – BET NOW
Fifth career start and is yet to win. Stranger things have happened.
