Australasian Oaks Form Guide & Tips
Aristia ($7) Bet Now
Owns a second placing in the VRC Derby last year and although she has been disappointing since, this is her easiest target for some time.
Bookmakers have her safe in the market and she should be around the mark.
Qafila ($27) Bet Now
Scored a slight upside win fresh up but she has come back to earth in two runs since.
Paying nice odds but she looks held against this level of opposition.
Princess Jenni (Best Each Way – $3.70) Bet Now
Winner of three from five, including an impressive win at Caulfield last time out.
Her form has stacked up nicely all season and although her preparation was interrupted by a late scratching in Sydney, she bounced back and she must be considered here.
Nice odds and worth taking.
Mirette ($12) Bet Now
Mirette is a professional winner of four from 11 starts and it would be foolish to leave her completely out of calculations.
She’s only a small-framed filly but if they go hard up front, she could be the one hitting the line with power late.
House Of Cartier ($26) Bet Now
Has been specked at odds after opening at $41. That’s a good sign and she wasn’t far away when fifth in the Frank Packer Plate last start.
Looms as a chance at odds.
Maracaibo ($23) Bet Now
Has won this preparation and was fifth in the Australian Oaks. That form should stack up nicely and she might be a touch over the odds.
Ran a close third in the Adrian Knox and she’s worth including.
Amangiri (Best Bet – $4.60) Bet Now
Big rise in class facing this daughter of All Too Hard but forget she went around at Randwick last time out. She had no luck in the straight so punters should go on her prior form.
That included a second placing in the Frank Packer Plate and consecutive wins at the provincial circuits.
She has plenty to give and she should run well here.
Sure Knee ($10) Bet Now
Chris Waller lines up the filly which ran on stoutly for second behind Princess Jenni last time out. We’re liking that form and Waller has always had a good opinion of this runner.
Drawn barrier 16 but she has ample time to find a spot and there’s a reason why she’s at single-figure odds.
Zalatte (Best Roughie – $8.50) Bet Now
She’s not exactly a “roughie” but the $8.50 odds are worth taking. She comes into this having had no luck at Flemington last start.
She looked the winner in that race but ran into a wall in the straight. We won’t know how she would have let down, but it’s a good sign for this.
$8.50 is worth taking and we’re expecting those odds to drop.
Sizzleme ($20) Bet Now
Knocking on the door of a win this season but it might not come here. She’s at $20, which is a good price but she would need to find a few lengths to win.
Nordic Symphony ($35) Bet Now
Scored an upset dead-heat win last start at odds of $41. That was a nice effort going forward and she could be an interesting runner in this.
Zargos ($46) Bet Now
Drawing barrier 20 isn’t going to help its chances. Safely held last start and it would need to find a few lengths just to figure in the finish.
Arctic Shock ($23) Bet Now
Rarely far away from the prize and there’s obvious specking in the betting. Handy run at Morphettville last start but she’s facing some rise in class.
Dreamed ($23) Bet Now
Ran second at odds of $101 last start. That was a nice effort but it’s unlikely she’ll be able to run that kind of race again.
Collectable ($23) Bet Now
Scored nicely fresh up at Sale by just under a length before running third at Caulfield last time out.
Yet to face anything close to this class and that could be the telling factor.
Seewhatshebrings ($81) Bet Now
Yet to win this campaign and although she hasn’t been too far away, it would take some effort to turn that form around.
So We Are ($81) Bet Now
Didn’t show much against some of these last start and it should be running near the rear throughout.
Prism ($81) Bet Now
Comes into this with a win at Sandown but that was in benchmark rating 64 grade. That form shouldn’t be a guide for this.
Havana Heat ($81) Bet Now
Gets the inside draw if it gets a start in the field. Has some ability but not enough consistency to enter the fray as a tip.
Miss Five Hundred ($67) Bet Now
Coming off a poor run and it looks held.
