Belmont horse racing tips

Race 1. (14:07) Free Entry to Belmont Park 2YO (1200m)

#1 – Storm Commander – Bet @ Sportsbet

Having winning form in this race is ideal and Storm Commander looks like a good chance of winning again.

The Neville Parnham-trained two-year-old scored by a half-length and we’re expecting his odds to be shorter this time around.

Barrier seven is tricky, but he should show good barrier speed.

Race 2. (14:47) Tabtouch Westspeed 0MW (1000m)

#3 – Snippy Miss – Bet @ Sportsbet

Snippy Miss capped off three consecutive placings with a win at Belmont and she saves his best racing for this track.

The four-year-old mare has had five starts at Belmont for two wins and two second placings, so she’s always worth backing at this venue.

Drawing barrier three helps and we’re confident of a big effort.

Race 3. (15:23) Glenroy Chaff BM66 (1000m)

#6 – Material Witness – Bet @ Sportsbet

Material Witness gets the services of William Pike and he doesn’t know how to run a bad race, so expect another big run.

The son of Star Witness owns three wins and five placings from nine starts, so he’s low flying and more than capable of rising through the grades.

Expect money to come for him on race day.

Race 4. (16:03) Amelia Park 1MW (2100m)

#1 – Blackwater Bay – Bet @ Sportsbet

Adam Durrant lines up the four-year-old gelding that owns three wins and four placings from 11 starts.

The son of Blackfriars didn’t fire on this track last start, but he’s good enough to bounce back and his previous form stands out.

2kg comes off his back and this isn’t a hard field to beat.

Race 5. (16:38) Drummond Golf Belmont Classic (2200m)

#2 – Tena Koutou @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Durrant-trained three-year-old will be tough to beat and it’s good to see early money coming his way.

He is a three-time winner from seven starts and he has rattled those three wins off in a row. The latest came by two lengths on this track and it’s his race to lose.

The $2.40 could shorten on race day, so lock in the value.

Race 6. (17:15) Perth Racing Club BM78 (1600m)

#5 – True Attraction – Bet @ Sportsbet

The five-year-old flashed home to finish second behind Born to Try last start and he demands attention at this level.

He is a five-time winner from 20 starts and four of those have come on the track, so he loves it here and it’s not the strongest field he’s ever faced.

It’s another good ride for Pike so put him on top.

Race 7. (17:50) Crown Perth BM62 (1000m)

#4 – Excerpt – Bet @ Sportsbet

He is a three-year-old that has found form this season, which includes two wins and a fourth from three starts.

His most recent effort was a win at Kalgoorlie, and although he’ll find this much harder, he shouldn’t be underrated.

55.5kg helps and he should run at value odds.

Race 8. (18:20) Seacorp 1MW (1200m)

#9 – Real Grace – Bet @ Sportsbet

Real Grace was better when fourth last time out and it’s a step in the right direction after showing little fresh up.

The daughter of I Am Invincible owns two wins from seven starts and she has attracted the services of William Pike, which will drive her price down.

It could pay to watch for a market lead.

Race 9. (19:00) Salinger BM69 (1400m)

#2 – The Spruiker – Bet @ Sportsbet

Money should come for The Spruiker, who has rattled off three consecutive wins and he owns five wins from 10 starts overall.

The three-year-old is running better than any other runner in this field and we couldn’t jump off his back given his recent form.

Put him on top of selections.
