Belmont horse racing tips

Race 1. (14:01) Free Entry to Belmont Park 2YO (1000m)

#1 – Revitup – Bet @ Neds

Revitup owns four wins and two placings from six starts, so she’s the class filly of the opening race.

The two-year-old was beaten last time out behind Rumour Says but she’s good enough to bounce back and the 2kg claim helps.

We expect her to hit back immediately.

Race 2. (14:41) Tabtouch Platinum Handicap (1600m)

#4 – Gates of Babylon – Bet @ Neds

Gates of Babylon is a seven-time winner from 37 starts and his best form comes on good tracks, so conditions are ideal.

The Brett Pope-trained gelding owns two wins at Belmont and seven on good surfaces, so we’re prepared to include him in selections.

Watch for any late betting moves.

Race 3. (15:19) Happy 50th W Tardrew BM62 (1400m)

#4 – Colossal – Bet @ Neds

Colossal started his career with back-to-back wins before consecutive placings, so he’s a consistent type.

The three-year-old colt ran well against a good field at Belmont last time out and a repeat of that effort takes him close.

His odds should be short with bookmakers.

Race 4. (15:56) Aquanita Stakes (2000m)

#1 – Black Fantasy @ $2 – Bet @ Neds

Black Fantasy is always around the mark with a win and eight placings from 11 starts, so that’s why he’s the odds-on favourite.

The three-year-old gelding has yet to win at Belmont from four attempts but he owns three placings and he’s getting close.

$2 is short but he’s worth adding to multis.

Race 5. (16:35) Belmont Oaks (2000m)

#1 – Searchin’ Roc’s @ $1.70 – Bet @ Neds

Searchin’ Roc’s is the class runner of the field and she has been around the mark behind some tough types.

The three-year-old filly by Awesome Rock was a short margin behind Devoted last start and that’s an excellent form guide.

Punters get short odds but she should get the job done.

Race 6. (17:10) Vale Rogan Josh BM78 (1600m)

#5 – Startrade – Bet @ Neds

Startrade comes off back-to-back wins at Belmont and we fancy his chances of winning again.

The Daniel Morton-trained five-year-old is an 11-time winner from 27 starts, so that overall record is outstanding.

Punters should watch betting moves closely.

Race 7. (17:45) Amelia Park BM66 (1400m)

#2 – Ginger Flyer – Bet @ Neds

Ginger Flyer is fresh up and she runs well fresh, so we’re confident and punters should get each-way odds.

The five-year-old owns five wins and 10 placings from 20 starts. We love her consistency and getting 2kg off her back helps.

We’re expecting another solid performance.

Race 8. (18:20) Crown Perth BM72 (1000m)

#5 – Beads – Bet @ Neds

Beads is another consistent runner with three wins and six placings from 13 starts. Two wins have come on the track and he scored here two back.

The three-year-old gets all favours from barrier three and the form out of his race two back holds up nicely here.

He’s a runner worth following in this company.

Race 9. (18:55) M Gangemi 1MW (1000m)

#10 – My Baby Blue Jean – Bet @ Neds

My Baby Blue Jean showed ability during her first campaign with three wins from six starts and she looks tough to beat.

The three-year-old filly comes off a trial win at Lark Hill and that should have her in good stead for her fresh up effort.
