Belmont horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:53) Tabtouch Westspeed Maiden (1400m)
#9 – Western Rhythm – Bet Now
The three-year-old filly finished a nose behind the winner on debut and she looks capable of going one better.
A daughter of Sessions, Western Rhythm gets the services of William Pike for the second consecutive run and that bodes well.
Jumping from barrier two is ideal and she is a top winning chance.
Race 2. (14:32) Amelia Park Plate (1300m)
#9 – Lasting Impact – Bet Now
Lasting Impact hasn’t been close to the winners so far but she is improving and could run well at value odds.
The two-year-old filly finished third at Belmont last start and dropping in weight to 54kg should see her run well again.
Expect each-way odds from bookmakers.
Race 3. (15:12) Perth Racing at Home BM71 (1400m)
#6 – Showmanship – Bet Now
Showmanship has rattled off three wins from four starts and he should prove tough to beat once again.
The impressive son of Showcasing scored by five lengths on this track two weeks ago and a repeat of that effort wouldn’t be surprising.
It is another good ride for William Pike and short odds will be on offer.
Race 4. (15:48) Waroa-Belmont Guineas (1600m)
#5 – Kay Cee @ $1.65 – Bet Now
Kay Cee is a quality type that could be competing in Melbourne this spring. The three-year-old filly has won five of her nine starts, including a quality win at Belmont last start.
She won her only second-up start previously and three of her five wins have come on this track.
$1.65 is a short quote but the Parnham-trained runner is the class act of this field and should run accordingly.
Race 5. (16:28) The Turf Club BM62 (1200m)
#7 – Bright Diamond – Bet Now
Unbeaten after two starts is Bright Diamond, which scored narrowly on debut before scoring by a half-length last start.
Her effort to win last time out was impressive as she got miles back in the run. Her turn-of-foot was superior and it bodes well for the future.
Expect the odds to be short from bookmakers.
Race 6. (17:05) All Flags Signs & Banners 1MW (1200m)
#3 – Pearls and Prawns – Bet Now
The five-year-old mare hasn’t raced since December but she was taking on tough opposition. She will find this easier and her recent trial form bodes well.
She scored a trial win at Belmont earlier this month and it is good to see the booking of Pike in the saddle. He has a good book of rides and Pearls and Prawns adds to that.
We are expecting a top effort upon her return.
Race 7. (17:40) Mumm Champagne BM78 (1600m)
#1 – Wrinkley – Bet Now
Wrinkley has been in work for some time now but the race fitness should do him plenty of good.
The Parnham-trained six-year-old is a nine-time winner from 54 starts that has form around some good types.
It is an even field here but the son of Saxon looks a good each-way hope.
Race 8. (18:10) Crown Towers BM66 (1600m)
#8 – Western Pride – Bet Now
Western Pride has rattled off four consecutive wins and she has every chance of remaining unbeaten.
Trained by Adam Durrant, the four-year-old did it easily by 1.5 lengths last start and it was her third consecutive win by more than a length.
Pike rides and short odds will likely be on offer.
Race 9. (18:45) Bryon Bay Premium Lager BM71 (1000m)
#3 – Massimo- Bet Now
Massimo is running out of chances after running second in three consecutive races, but he is worth sticking with.
The Durrant-trained three-year-old is a four-time winner from 11 starts and it is another premium ride for Pike.
There are some nice types in this field but Massimo is a leading contender.
