Belmont horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:58) Free Entry to Belmont Park Plate (1000m)
#3 – Born to Rule – Bet Now
Adam Durrant lines up the two-year-old filly that scored by 1.3 lengths last start and she could go back-to-back.
The daughter of Universal Ruler sat just off the pace and kicked strongly to score, so that should hold her in good stead for this race.
Expect a good run at each-way odds.
Race 2. (14:35) Ascend Sales Trophies BM72 (1300m)
#8 – Windstorm – Bet Now
Windstorm created a huge impression when winning last start and it was his third win from four starts.
The Williams-trained three-year-old is bred to be good and he has a nice future. He drops in weight for this run and it is no surprise to see William Pike stay in the saddle.
Short odds will be on offer.
Race 3. (15:15) Tabtouch Westspeed 0MW (1400m)
#10 – Megadon – Bet Now
Medagon is getting close to a win after posting a second placing at Northam last start. The five-year-old made up good ground from the back of the field and carrying 54.5kg is ideal.
He has yet to do much in nine starts at Belmont, but punters will get good odds and he could cause a minor upset here.
Race 4. (15:55) Glenroy Chaff BM62 (1400m)
#5 – Bright Diamond – Bet Now
The three-year-old filly suffered her first defeat last start but she could bounce back in fine style.
She finished a neck behind Mood Swings after winning her first two starts, but she lost no admirers with the defeat and we’re sticking with her.
Pike is in the saddle and with only 54.5kg on the back, she owns plenty of upside.
Race 5. (16:42) Hahn Superdry Strickland Stakes (2000m)
#7 – Perfect Jewel @ $3 – Bet Now
Perfect Jewel is going for three consecutive wins after scoring back-to-back upsets at double-figure odds.
The Durrant-trained mare is at much shorter odds for this race and that should be a good sign of what is to come.
William Pike has chosen to ride Mississippi Delta but stick with Perfect Jewel.
Race 6. (17:20) Schweppes 1MW (1600m)
#5 – Sublime Image – Bet Now
Sublime Image rattled off three consecutive wins last campaign and she could bounce back after a fresh up seventh.
The four-year-old was always going to need the run and rising to the mile is ideal. She is a daughter of Redoute’s Choice that has Pike in the saddle and every chance of winning.
Watch for a market push and this field has some nice types involved.
Race 7. (17:50) Amelia Park BM78 (1000m)
#5 – Essential Spice – Bet Now
Essential Spice is a proven winner of five from 16 starts and she has eight placings to her record as well.
The four-year-old is fresh up and she usually hits the ground running. She scored a fresh up win at Ascot last preparation and could produce a similar effort here.
She gets the inside draw with Pike riding, so expect a tidy effort.
Race 8. (18:20) Crown Perth 1MW (1000m)
#12 – Pure Dynamite – Bet Now
Punters should get good odds for Pure Dynamite, which owns one win and four placings. The Neville Parnham-trained gelding hasn’t been too far away in recent starts and that form should hold up.
The son of Alfred Nobel gets in with only 54kg on his back and with a win and placing at Belmont, he could fire up at odds.
Race 9. (18:50) Vale Ron Nicol BM66 (2100m)
#12 – Roman Flirt – Bet Now
Roman Flirt is on fire this season with four consecutive wins. The Pearce-trained runner scored by two lengths two starts back and was equally as impressive last time out.
She won her only start at Belmont and she is more than capable of producing yet another victory on Saturday.
Punters are advised to stick with her.
