Belmont horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:58) Tabtouch Westspeed Maiden (1600m)
#3 – Float our Boat – Bet Now
Float our Boat has yet to finish better than fourth from three starts, but he’s getting close and should be considered.
The Simon Miller-trained gelding was only 2.1 lengths behind the winner last start and the form should stack up nicely.
He only needs some luck from the wide draw.
Race 2. (14:37) Laverrod Western Racepix Ascot (1300m)
#3 – Powerful – Bet Now
Powerful ran at big odds on debut and missed by only a nose. The Neville Parnham-trained gelding set the pace and was almost good enough to score.
It should hold him in good stead for this race and we’re confident he’ll be at much shorter odds this time around.
The son of Nicconi shouldn’t take long to breakthrough.
Race 3. (15:17) Heineken 3 BM60 (1400m)
#3 – Resortman – Bet Now
Resortman is unbeaten after two starts and he could continue in that form. The three-year-old won by just under a length last start and it bodes well for his future.
Including trials as well, he has won six races in a row and the son of Helmut is doing his connections proud.
Tricky draw but punters must respect his chances.
Race 4. (15:57) Perth Racing at Home BM78 (2200m)
#5 – Utgard Loki – Bet Now
Utgard Loki has won three of his last five starts and punters love betting on consistent horses. He has finished in the money in 10 of his 14 starts and this is his first start at Belmont.
The son of Frost Giant won by a length at Ascot last start and there’s no reason why he couldn’t win again.
Expect each-way odds from bookmakers.
Race 5. (16:34) Gourmet Takeaway 1MW (2100m)
#3 – Picture Perfect – Bet Now
Picture Perfect scored by 1.3 lengths three starts back and he has been going close since. He ran third in a field of 16 at Ascot last start, so there’s merit in that run.
The four-year-old by Reset is a three-time winner from nine starts and this race is there for the taking.
William Pike rides and that’s a good sign.
Race 6. (17:10) Amelia Park 1MW (1200m)
#13 – Showmanship – Bet Now
Showmanship won on debut at Lark Hill before running fourth at Belmont last start. It was a solid effort despite being the $1.70 favourite.
William Pike sticks with him and that’s a good sign going forward. He will likely be well-backed again and punters should follow the money.
Race 7. (17:40) Crown Perth BM72 (1400m)
#5 – Massimo – Bet Now
Massimo was beaten last start but he needed the run and he should strip fitter for this race.
The Adam Durrant-trained three-year-old owns four wins from nine starts and it’s another good ride for William Pike.
He will need to be good from barrier 11, but this gelding has plenty of ability and should run accordingly.
Race 8. (18:15) Skyracing BM60 (1400m)
#10 – Bee Quick – Bet Now
Bee Quick is a consistent mare that has run three consecutive placings. The four-year-old mare won her only start on this track and she went close last start.
Drawing barrier four is ideal and with Brad Parnham in the saddle, she should get a good run throughout the race.
Each-way odds should be offered.
Race 9. (18:50) Iron Jack BM66 (1600m)
#10 – Dawn Armada – Bet Now
Dawn Armada is finding it tough to win but with Pike in the saddle, she might be able to find her winning groove.
The four-year-old mare has four wins on her record and she does some of her best racing at Belmont. She has eight starts for two wins and two placings.
We’re expecting a top effort so consider.
