Belmont horse racing tips

Race 1. (14:02) Mrs Mac’s Plate (1200m)

#3 – Written Exceed – Bet @ Sportsbet

Written Exceed comes off a fifth at Ascot and although beaten, he wasn’t beaten far and it was against a tough field.

The two-year-old scored a quality debut win at Ascot and anything close to that effort would be good enough to see him winning.

William Pike takes the ride and barrier two should see him land in a good spot.

Race 2. (14:42) Free Entry to Belmont BM62 (1200m)

#1 – Hot Zed – Bet @ Sportsbet

Hot Zed is in stellar form after posting five wins and three placings from his first nine career starts.

The three-year-old gelding comes off a win at Ascot and with four wins coming at this distance, he’s a smart sprinter in the making.

3kg comes off his back to help with the weight, so punters should be confident.

Race 3. (15:22) Tabtouch Westspeed 0MW (1200m)

#6 – Snippy Miss – Bet @ Sportsbet

Snippy Miss comes off a second placing at Ascot and that should be a good form guide for this contest.

The four-year-old mare owns only one win from 23 starts, but she also owns 10 placings and the win came on this track.

Punters typically get value odds and she is ready to breakthrough.

Race 4. (16:02) Amelia Park Lodge 1MW (1000m)

#6 – Devoted Star – Bet @ Sportsbet

Devoted Star runs her best races fresh up after posting three wins from five fresh-up attempts.

The Williams-trained five-year-old is classy at best and she gets the services of William Pike, so expectations are high.

We expect bookmakers to have her at short odds.

Race 5. (16:45) Schweppes BM66 (2100m)

#5 – Lyle’s Choice – Bet @ Sportsbet

Coming off a win at Albany is Lyle’s Choice, which scored by a half-length and is capable of handling this class.

The four-year-old is a four-time winner from 19 starts and although yet to race at Ascot, it’s a track that should suit his style.

Barrier 12 makes it harder but he should find cover over this distance.

Race 6. (17:20) Crown Towers 1MW (1300m)

#2 – Son Son – Bet @ Sportsbet

Son Son continues to run well and the four-time winner should be on your ticket for this contest.

The three-year-old son of Rogano scored a win two weeks ago at Ascot by 2.5 lengths and he’s capable of winning again in this company.

Punters should be expecting short odds and we would happily take anything above $1.70.

Race 7. (17:50) Morley Growers Market BM71 (1400m)

#2 – Leading Girl – Bet @ Sportsbet

Leading Girl ended her last campaign with consecutive wins and she could fire up in a fresh start.

She is a winner of five from 11 starts and she owns five placings, so she never runs a bad race. Her chances of winning on Saturday are strong and her recent trial form bodes well.

It’s another quality ride for Pike, so expect big things.

Race 8. (18:20) Iron Jack Belmont Sprint (1400m)

#3 – Elite Street @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Elite Street comes off a second placing behind Money Matters and there is little wrong with that form going forward.

The four-year-old is a Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes winner that has the class edge on this field, so we’re expecting a big effort.

He owns two wins from three starts at Belmont, so put him on top.

Race 9. (18:50) Seacorp BM72 (1000m)

#2 – Excellent Dream – Bet @ Sportsbet

Excellent Dream is a six-time winner from 14 starts that has already won three times this preparation, so he’s on fire.

He owns two wins at Belmont and three at this distance, so we would be surprised if he wasn’t fighting out the finish.

3kg comes off his back and that bodes well.
