Bendigo horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (13:00) Adroit Maiden Plate (1100m)

#11 – Viviane @ $2.60 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Viviane has been around the mark throughout her career and she meets a field that’s there for the taking.

The three-year-old daughter of Written Tycoon finished fourth at Caulfield last time out behind Libiamo, which is excellent form for maiden racing.

Drawing barrier nine makes it awkward, but she has the class to beat this field.

Race 2. (13:35) Bendigo Mazda Maiden (1300m)

#8 – Unforgiven @ $3 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Freedman-trained three-year-old finished fifth on debut at Sale before running fourth behind Zerelle at Sandown last start.

He is a well-bred son of Snitzel, who looked good when running fourth in a recent trial at Cranbourne, so he should be ready to fire.

Most of the early money has come his way, which is a good sign.

Race 3. (14:10) The Big Screen Company Maiden (1300m)

#9 – Press for Victory @ $5.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Saab Hasan lines up the three-year-old filly who finished third on debut at Warrnambool.

The daughter of Press Statement was only 1.8 lengths behind the winner last month, and she should get every chance after drawing barrier four.

Punters get value each-way odds, so look for a betting push on race day.

Race 4. (14:45) Bendigo Skin Clinic Maiden (1500m)

#11 – Trust in a Gale @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Trust in a Gale didn’t fire on debut but she was much better when running third at Ballarat last time out.

The filly by Trust in a Gust finished 5.8 lengths behind the winner, but she settled too far back before hitting the line powerfully.

Rising in distance is ideal and she should give punters a good sight.

Race 5. (15:20) Roll the Dice Racing C1 Handicap (1400m)

#1 – Around the Horn @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Around the Horn comes off a debut win at Murray Bridge, which came over a year ago. He has been given time to mature and his recent jumpout effort is a good sign.

The son of Golden Horn gets the inside draw to work with and punters get odds worth taking. We expect the $3.10 to firm on race day, so it could pay to take the odds available.

Race 6. (15:55) Apiam Animal Health BM78 (1300m)

#2 – Altai Ranger @ $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Altai Ranger has the class edge over this field after posting four wins from 13 career starts.

The John Sadler-trained four-year-old owns a win over this distance and his effort at Sandown behind Sir Kalahad was a solid effort.

There are some smart types in this field, but he looks to have the most upside.

Race 7. (16:30) Bet365 Odds Drift Protect BM64 (2400m)

#1 – Ocean Heart @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Ocean Heart isn’t always the most consistent runner going around, but the five-year-old mare can win on Wednesday.

The daughter of Ocean Park owns four wins and three placings from 19 starts, and although yet to race at Bendigo, it’s a track that should suit.

She won at Echuca against a good field in August, so that run sticks out.

Race 8. (17:05) Silks Events & Functions BM64 (1100m)

#13 – Universal Lady @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Universal Lady kicked off her season with consecutive wins at Ballarat before placing at Benalla and Warrnambool.

The four-year-old daughter of Exceed and Excel wasn’t far behind Duchess of Dorset last start, which should be a good form guide.

Barrier 14 doesn’t make it easy, but $5 is a price worth locking in.
