Bendigo always presents punters with good betting fields and we have our best value bets.
Bendigo horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (13:00) Bet365 Protest Promise Maiden (1000m)
#5 – Nantucket @ $2.05 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Nantucket ran second at all three starts last season and he could start this campaign with a bang.
The three-year-old gelding is coming off two placings at Flemington and Caulfield, and that form stacks up beautifully for this race.
Expect the favourite to get off the mark in style.
Race 2. (13:35) Tac Be Races Ready Maiden (1400m)
#7 – Manaajim @ $2.35 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Manaajim is another runner that has three consecutive second placings and she should go close to breaking through.
The daughter of Lonhro is coming off a second placing at Mornington and although not the strongest form race, it could be enough for this contest.
The inside draw is ideal so consider.
Race 3. (14:10) Bendigo Mazda Maiden (1400m)
#8 – Nowitzki @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
There wasn’t much to like about his debut effort but there is excellent confidence in the betting markets.
The Maher/Eustace-trained son of Deep Impact will be better for the experience and his breeding suggests that he has ability to come.
Watch late betting moves for a further indication.
Race 4. (14:45) Race Services Maiden (1600m)
#7 – Who’s Your Papy @ $2.70 – Bet @ Sportsbet
There is plenty of money for Who’s Your Papy, which hit the line well for second at Swan Hill last time out.
The three-year-old was only a half-length behind the winner and he didn’t get all favours throughout the run.
He won’t take long to win, so he’s worth backing this week.
Race 5. (15:20) Silks Events & Functions BM64 (1100m)
#9 – Kuna Magic @ $3.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Kuna Magic faces a steep rise in class after winning on debut at Sapphire Coast, but she looked good in the process.
Now with the Ellerton/Zahra stables, the daughter of Eurozone is looking to take the next step in her career. There has been good betting support, which is an excellent sign.
Race 6. (15:55) The Big Screen Company BM64 (2400m)
#2 – Pissaro @ $7.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters are finding it tough to follow Pissaro, but this isn’t a strong field and the odds on offer are generous.
The Michael Kent-trained six-year-old is coming off a fifth at Moonee Valley and that is strong form for a race like this.
Bendigo is a track that should suit and we wouldn’t be leaving him out of calculations.
Race 7. (16:30) One Tree Hill C1 Handicap (1400m)
#7 – Night Passage @ $4.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Night Passage scored a win three starts back and although beaten comfortably since, she hasn’t taken on easy fields.
The four-year-old mare drops in class for this race and she enters with a 3.8-length trial win at Gawler.
$4.80 is a fair price and punters are getting value.
Race 8. (17:05) James Reid 40th B’Day BM64 (1300m)
#10 – Fundraiser @ $3.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Fundraiser is coming off a third placing at Geelong and there was plenty to like about that performance.
The four-year-old gelding by Helmet is talented at best and he should have won more than one of his five career starts.
Drawing barrier three is ideal and he shouldn’t have any excuses.
