The four-year-old son of Fiorente owns a win and three placings from nine starts, and he has yet to finish worse than second over the distance.

Ferocious Frankie wasn’t far behind a smart field at The Valley last start, and that form bodes well for midweek racing at Bendigo.

The three-year-old filly by Darci Brahma won on debut at Cranbourne by a half-length, and it won’t take her long to get back to winning form.

It always pays to take notice of a Peter Moody-trained runner with Luke Nolen riding, and Kirksville is bred for speed.

The three-year-old son of Ole Kirk hasn’t been seen at the trials, but he has looked good at home, and we’re happy with the odds available.

He’s facing a solid midweek field, but he has more upside than most.

Race 4. (14:55) Ladbrokes Mates Mode Pots Maiden (1500m)

Looking to make a winning debut for Godolphin and Ciaron Maher is Intervened, who should get every chance in the run.

The three-year-old son of Kermadec has looked solid at the jumpouts, and we would be surprised if money didn’t come for him on race day.

It’s an open field but include him in horse racing picks.

Race 5. (15:30) Workforce Extensions BM62 (1600m)

Looking to get back to winning form is Blazing Sword, who scored twice at Albury before running at Sandown and Seymour.

The son of Too Darn Hot didn’t handle the rise in distance last time out, so dropping back to the mile should be right up his alley.

The five-year-old has been patiently handled throughout her career, and getting the inside draw only adds to her appeal.

Trembles started her preparation on fire with wins at Mornington and Sandown before running a close enough seventh at Caulfield in open class.

Dropping to BM66 makes life much easier for her, and the Freedman-trained mare should be right in the mix on Wednesday.
