Blue Diamond Stakes Form Guide & Tips
1. General Beau (Best Each-Way – $6) Bet @ Sportsbet
General Beau is a winner of three from four starts and the colt has plenty of upside. He fought bravely to score last start and after opening at $9.50, his odds have been slammed.
He must be considered from an inside barrier.
2. Ingratiating ($9.50) Bet @ Sportsbet
Another runner coming off a tough win and he looks like a nice type in the making. He has also been well-backed to win and he goes into first-four calculations.
William Pike rides and the son of Frosted should be around the mark.
3. Finance Tycoon ($31) Bet @ Sportsbet
He worked home well enough in the Magic Millions after getting miles too far back in the run.
Punters get value odds here and we wouldn’t be ruling him out of calculations.
4. Pegasi ($91) Bet @ Sportsbet
Yet to run a bad race but he’s yet to run against this level of opposition. The odds reflect as much and he shouldn’t be figuring in the finish.
5. Anamoe ($8) Bet @ Sportsbet
Big run for second last start behind General Beau when he had no luck in the straight. Barrier 15 doesn’t help but if he gets the breaks, he could be a factor.
Damien Oliver rides and it enters first four calculations.
6. Abseiler ($151) Bet @ Sportsbet
Impressive winner on debut but it was well-handled last time out. Barrier 16 won’t help his chances and punters get triple-figure odds.
7. Artorius ($14) Bet @ Sportsbet
He ran second behind Jigsaw on debut and that form has since been franked. He followed that up with a win at Sandown, so he’s not the worst in this field.
Barrier 10 is OK and we wouldn’t be surprised if he figured in the finish.
8. Jigsaw (Best Roughie – $16) Bet @ Sportsbet
A brilliant winner on debut before taking on tough opposition last time out and running well for third.
Punters get value double-figure odds and he could easily factor into the finish, given that he travelled four-wide in the Prelude.
9. Construct ($41) Bet @ Sportsbet
Yet to win and it failed to make an impression last time out. Steadily backed throughout the week, which is a good sign.
Worth considering but he doesn’t enter our calculations.
10. Marine One ($67) Bet @ Sportsbet
Better for two starts at Caulfield but he hasn’t quite lived up to expectations. Tricky draw and it could be too much work for the colt.
11. Hitotsu ($251) Bet @ Sportsbet
Big odds available and rightfully so. He didn’t show much on debut and that’s unlikely to change in this race.
It would be the biggest upset this season.
12. Dosh ($15) Bet @ Sportsbet
A winner on debut and it got past some nice types last time out. Unbeaten after two starts and she has been running good times.
She will get her chance from a good barrier.
13. Enthaar (Best Bet – $2.35) Bet @ Sportsbet
Enthaar is coming off two impressive wins and she has beaten many runners in this field.
The daughter of Written Tycoon scored by 2.3 lengths at Caulfield last time out and she deserves to be favourite for this race.
Barrier 14 is a concern but she clearly goes on top in a competitive race.
14. Arcaded ($16) Bet @ Sportsbet
Arcaded is also an unbeaten two-year-old filly that scored both wins at Caulfield. She won by 2.5 lengths last start and although against easier opposition, she can handle this field.
Drawing the inside barrier is ideal and punters enjoy the value odds.
15. Wolves ($126) Bet @ Sportsbet
Yet to show anything and a win would be a shock here.
16. Ginibi ($151) Bet @ Sportsbet
Same story as Ginibi. Showed little on debut and it shouldn’t figure in the finish.
