Blue Diamond Stakes Stakes Form Guide & Tips

I Am Immortal ($9.50) – BET NOW

Almost went down as the best each way here as we can’t fault his unbeaten form. The Anthony Freedman-trained colt scored by a length at Caulfield before backing that up with a tough win in the Preview last start.

He has run at odds of $3.75 and $2.50 to date so the $9.50 is good value.

Hawker Hurricane (Best Roughie – $13) – BET NOW

Liked the way he ran on for third behind I Am Immortal last start and there could be good things in this colt’s future.

The Mike Moroney-trained son of Deep Field will get every chance to settle closer to the pace from barrier two and he could be specked at double-figure odds come race day.

Free Of Debt ($31) – BET NOW

The underrated colt coming into this race after posting consecutive victories to kick off his career. The first win came as a $31 chance and the second as an $8 shot.

He continues to win and we wouldn’t be surprised to see him finishing in the first half of the field.

Shotmaker ($16) – BET NOW

Has drifted in the betting throughout the week after running second behind I Am Immortal on debut but there was nothing wrong with that performance.

Not liking the drift as it suggests the colt hasn’t been working well but consider at each-way odds.

Game Keeper ($71) – BET NOW

Handy win at Sandown last start but it’s tough to see that form being good enough for this. Many of its opposition ran on Wednesday and there was nothing covering the field, which isn’t a good sign.

$51 and that has drifted from $17 after the Wednesday form guide.

Catch Me ($9.50) – BET NOW

Was swabbed after its poor performance in the Preview last time out. That was a bad effort given her unbeaten form prior, which included a win at Randwick in the Breeders’ Plate and a win at Caulfield.

Could take this out based on that form but she would need to turn her most recent effort around in a big way.

Lyre ($5) – BET NOW

Lonhro filly which caused a big upset when winning the Preview last start and she’s at much shorter odds in this.

Trained by Anthony Freedman, the two-year-old filly was tough in victory and she backed up her maiden win at Sale with another strong performance.

Nicely drawn and we’re not surprised that money has come for her.

Vinicunca ($10) – BET NOW

Ran second behind Lyre last start and that could be a good form guide for this. Hasn’t quite had the same attention in the market as her opposition but she looks a strong type and this stable knows their juveniles.

Worth considering as she’ll get every chance from barrier four.

Bella Rosa ($19) – BET NOW

Won on Melbourne Cup day to kick-start her career before finishing second behind Loving Gaby last time out at Caulfield.

We have to respect that form as we think Loving Gaby will win, so consider Bella Rosa an each-way chance at nice odds.

Loving Gaby (Best Bet – $5.50) – BET NOW

Had support on debut and she looked the goods when winning at Caulfield by a half-length over Bella Rosa.

The Maher/Eustace-trained filly did everything she needed to win and although she won’t have any favours from barrier 12, she might get a nice drag into the race and hit the line with power.

Needs luck but she’s clearly talented and worth backing.

Athiri ($8) – BET NOW

Just under a length behind Lyre last start and if that’s the form guide for this, she should be a winning hope.

The Cummings-trained daughter of Lonhro was a two-length winner on debut at Rosehill where she looked like an impressive type and if she can get some luck from a wide barrier, she could fight out the finish.

Lankan Star ($27) – BET NOW

Looks to have ability but it might just be a touch below the best in this race. She was solid when fourth last time out but we think she might need to find a length to win.

$26 is a price worth considering however.

Brooklyn Hustle (Best Each Way – $11) – BET NOW

Had the hype following her debut win at Moonee Valley when sprinting over the top of them late but she only worked home moderately last time out.

We’re prepared to forgive that run and put it down to a learning experience. She has explosive power and if they run quickly up front, expect her to be finishing strongly again.

Andrassy Avenue ($17) – BET NOW

Nice win by 2.5 lengths at The Valley last start but we’re not sure if that form will hold up well enough.

The Lindsay Park-trained runner has had some support in the betting but she appears as a place chance only.
