Cantala Stakes Form Guide & Tips
1. Zoutori ($34) Bet @ Sportsbet
His best races come at Flemington, but we’re not sure if he’s up to this level of racing at the moment.
Barrier 13 makes it even harder.
2. Cascadian (Best Roughie – $12) Bet @ Sportsbet
Punters know the drill by now; he will settle back and hit the line strongly. We like his chances of hitting the line powerfully, and the odds are worth taking.
3. Superstorm ($11) Bet @ Sportsbet
Scored a good win three back and his efforts since have been solid. Nothing wrong with that form, so he should be included in multiples.
4. Riodini ($9.50) Bet @ Sportsbet
The former Kiwi makes his own luck in front and he could pinch a break. He didn’t fire last start in the Epsom, but he has since won a trial.
He shouldn’t be left out.
5. Buffalo River ($13) Bet @ Sportsbet
His chances increase if the rain comes. He scored an impressive win in the wet last start, so keep an eye on markets.
6. Aramayo ($9.50) Bet @ Sportsbet
Struggling to win races but the Waller-trained gelding ran second in the Epsom Handicap behind Private Eye.
That’s strong form, so include him in selections.
7. Icebath ($10) Bet @ Sportsbet
Scored an overdue win at Randwick last week. Not easy to back it up only seven days later, but the ability is there.
The light weight helps her chances.
8. Lunar Fox ($31) Bet @ Sportsbet
Not showing his best form and he doesn’t have much of a turn-of-foot. He’ll need one to beat this field.
9. Kahma Lass ($26) Bet @ Sportsbet
The Kiwi scored an impressive win at Caulfield last start. She showed her true ability, and she won’t have to do much work off the inside draw with only 52kg on her back.
10. Quantum Mechanic ($27) Bet @ Sportsbet
Better efforts his last two starts, but it would be an upset win. We don’t think he’s going well enough to beat this quality of field.
11. Chaillot (Best Each Way – $8) Bet @ Sportsbet
A three-time winner at Flemington and she dug deep to beat a nice field at Caulfield last start.
52kg on the back is ideal and punters get odds worth taking.
12. Just Folk ($26) Bet @ Sportsbet
Scored an upset win at The Valley last week, and his chances increase if the rain comes. Keep an eye on the weather.
13. Romancer ($67) Bet @ Sportsbet
He’s too inconsistent to warrant attention. Three of his nine career wins have come at Flemington, but this would be a big upset.
14. Mr Brightside (Best Bet – $4.20) Bet @ Sportsbet
Winning form is good form, and Mr Brightside owns six wins from eight starts. He has risen through the grades in style, and although facing some smart types, he gets 52kg on his back.
He handles all conditions, and he could be a runner to follow for years to come. Having Craig Williams in the saddle helps.
15. King Magnus ($27) Bet @ Sportsbet
Never too far away from the prize and he could measure up. Not the worst at the price.
16. Flash Aah ($71) Bet @ Sportsbet
Looks tested against this field.
