Canterbury horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (12:50) Quayclean Maiden Handicap (1580m)
#4 – Ironbark Artie @ $3.30 – Bet @ Bet365
The Snowden-trained three-year-old comes off three consecutive placings and he shouldn’t take long to win a race.
He is on the quick back-up after running at Kembla Grange on Saturday and the fitness could help him immensely.
Having Hugh Bowman in the saddle is another positive and we’re not surprised to see his odds firm from $3.80 to $3.30.
Race 2. (13:25) Furphy Maiden Plate (1100m)
#6 – Sports Legend @ $3.70 – Bet @ Bet365
Sports Legend comes off two trials wins and the Les Bridge-trained runner could make a winning debut.
The three-year-old son of Deep Field is in good hands and the ‘Legend’ runners usually make a top beginning to their careers.
We’re happy with the odds available, and despite drifting from an opening price of $3.30, we see money coming for him on race day.
Race 3. (14:00) Bowermans BM72 (1900m)
#2 – Chateaux Park @ $4.20 – Bet @ Bet365
Chateaux Park was too good for them in wet conditions at Randwick last start and it’s good form going forward.
The son of Ocean Park scored by 1.3 lengths and his best form comes in wet conditions with 11 starts for two wins and five placings.
James McDonald takes over the riding duties and punters get each-way odds to enjoy.
Race 4. (14:35) Schweppes BM72 (1580m)
#1 – Icecrusher @ $4.60 – Bet @ Bet365
Icecrusher capped off back-to-back placings with a win at Randwick and she’s every chance of putting two wins together.
The eight-year-old has the experience edge with 50 starts and 10 wins to her name. It was good to see her winning last start and the conditions are ideal.
Getting 2kg off her back helps and she’s not done with winning just yet.
Race 5. (15:10) Tab BM72 (1580m)
#1 – Highly Desired @ $4 – Bet @ Bet365
Highly Desired is another last-start winner that is good enough to win again at the same level of racing.
The Claire Lever-trained runner scored by three lengths at Warwick Farm last start and he’s good enough to kick on with the job as an eight-year-old.
He loves racing over the distance and punters should expect the each-way odds to stay firm throughout the week.
Race 6. (15:45) Ranvet BM72 (1100m)
#10 – Ten Bells @ $4.60 – Bet @ Bet365
Ten Bells owns four wins from six starts and many of those wins came in competitive Highway Handicap races in town.
The five-year-old mare is unbeaten in two starts over the distance and she is also a winner on a heavy surface, so punters should be confident.
It’s another good ride for Bowman and he could have a successful afternoon.
Race 7. (16:20) Vinery Stallions BM72 (1250m)
#5 – Overlord @ $5.50 – Bet @ Bet365
Overlord has always shown potential and not always lived up to it, but he was too good for them at Warwick Farm.
The five-year-old son of Sebring scored narrowly fresh up and having that win under his belt should give him plenty of confidence.
Being in the hands of Chris Waller helps and the odds aren’t too shabby.
