Frosty Rocks has been competing against some nice types and he should appreciate this field.
Bjorn Baker lines up the three-year-old colt which has finished third in two of his three starts, including a last-start placing at Randwick.
Those came behind some smart types and with Tim Clark likely to sit on the speed from barrier two, he’s going to be tough to beat at each-way odds.
Race 2. (14:00) ANZ Bloodstock News BM72 (1900m)
#3 – Seeingisbelieving – Bet Now
Consistency is key for this runner, which has finished first or second in all seven starts this campaign.
The Kim Waugh-trained gelding has scored three wins and four second placings since resuming in April and his rise through the grades has been impressive.
There are no superstars in this field and jockey Brenton Avdulla is typically a good rider over the middle distances.
Race 3. (14:35) Everest Carnival Maiden (1100m)
#10 – Super Oasis – Bet Now
This is a tough field but Super Oasis showed form against some smart types during her first campaign.
The three-year-old filly ran second on debut behind Sun Patch before running ninth behind Anaheed at Group 2 level at Randwick.
Her trial form since has included a win at Warwick Farm and that’s going to top her off nicely for this run.
Drawing barrier 15 hurts but she does possess good barrier speed so treat with respect.
Race 4. (15:10) TAB BM72 (1580m)
#1 – Seles – Bet Now
Chris Waller lines up the four-year-old mare which has had a busy year but otherwise it has been solid.
She’s a three-time winner which battled on fairly at Rosehill last start and the form out of that race should stack up nicely in midweek grade.
Some of her best efforts have come on rain-affected ground so conditions won’t be an issue for the daughter of I Am Invincible.
Race 5. (15:45) Pluck @ Vinery BM72 (1250m)
#5 – Adana – Bet Now
Adana might only be a one-race winner for Chris Waller, but he has faced some smart types throughout his career.
The four-year-old ran behind the likes of Mystic Journey and Ranier last season, which is form that should stack up nicely at this level.
He runs well in a fresh state with two placings from three starts and having James McDonald in the saddle is a bonus.
Race 6. (16:20) Australian Turf Club BM72 (1100m)
#2 – Roosevelt – Bet Now
James Cummings lines up the promising four-year-old which didn’t win last campaign but went close last time out.
The son of Exceed And Excel is a two-time winner from eight starts which has a prior fresh-up win and that should bode well for this.
Hugh Bowman is a key booking in the saddle and he’s going to get every chance off an inside barrier.
Race 7. (16:55) Canterbury League Club BM72 (1580m)
#3 – Flying Pierro – Bet Now
There’s not much depth to this field and Flying Pierro has a recent win to boast.
The Waller-trained four-year-old scored a two-length win at Newcastle two starts back before running on fairly at Canterbury last month.
That run should see him be competitive against an easier field here, which contains no last-start winners.
Punters should get each-way odds.
