Race 1. (18:15) Paul Lahood Funeral Services Maiden (1100m)
#1 – Forbes @ $2.05 – Bet @ Sportsbet
The opening price of $1.85 is drifting for Forbes, but the two-year-old colt has upside and should go close.
He finished second on debut at Sandown behind Anamoe, which has since run well in much harder races than this.
Drawing barrier 17 hurts, but he goes close with luck.
Race 2. (18:45) Tab BM64 (1200m)
#4 – Jenga @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Jenga comes off a stellar win at Warwick Farm and the three-year-old filly could rise through the grades.
The daughter of All Too Hard scored impressively by three lengths and she showed good barrier speed to lead throughout.
It’s a good asset to have and we’re confident of her chances.
Race 3. (19:15) Iron Jack BM64 (1900m)
#1 – Mightybeel @ $2.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
It was a mighty win from Mightybeel last start after getting back and swooping around the field with ease.
The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old put 4.3 lengths on the field and it was an impressive effort. We’re expecting him to rise through the grades based on that run.
James McDonald rides and his odds should firm.
Race 4. (19:45) The Agency Real Estate BM72 (1250m)
#10 – Noble Soldier @ $7 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Value is with Noble Soldier, which finished second at Goulburn and he has enough ability to handle the rise in class.
The Price-trained three-year-old owns two wins and three placings from seven starts, so he is rarely too far away from the prize.
Getting a 2kg claimer to ride is ideal and $7 is a fair price.
Race 5. (20:15) M&G Seafood BM72 (1900m)
#2 – Major Artie @ $4.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Major Artie is a professional winner of three of his last four starts and punters get value odds on Friday.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained gelding comes off a narrow win at Canterbury and the form out of that race should stack up nicely.
He will likely show pace from an outside draw and try cross the field.
Race 6. (20:45) Kia Canterbury Sprint Final BM78 (1100m)
#11 – Najmah @ $2.05 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Najmah is unbeaten after two starts and the three-year-old filly could continue her unbeaten record.
The Hawkes-trained daughter of Snitzel won on debut at Kembla Grange by 3.8 lengths before winning at Canterbury by two lengths.
Having winning experience on this track is ideal and with 54kg and the inside draw, we’re not surprised by the short odds available.
Race 7. (21:15) PDF Food Services BM72 (1550m)
#6 – Foxborough @ $5 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Foxborough has been a touch expensive for punters of late, but the four-year-old mare is rarely too far away.
The John Sargent-trained runner comes off an improved third placing at Canterbury and with the addition of the inside draw, she shouldn’t have any excuses.
Her best form comes on rain-affected tracks, so conditions are perfect for the three-time winner.
