Race 1. (17:55) Captivant Kia Ora Maiden (1100m)
#10 – Gambers @ $5.00
Gambers looks well-placed on debut after winning a trial at Rosehill, which is a good form guide.
The two-year-old filly by I Am Invincible defeated Memo by 1.3 lengths, and that form has been franked at higher levels.
Barrier two is ideal and punters get value each-way odds.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 2. (18:30) Schweppes BM64 (1900m)
#2 – Tapa Kick @ $5.00
Tapa Kick capped off consistent form with a win at Randwick, and there’s nothing wrong with that form.
The four-year-old gelding by Scissor Kick owns three wins and 10 placings from 13 starts, and getting 3kg off his back is ideal.
We’re loving the each-way odds available from bookmakers.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 3. (19:00) The Agency Real Estate BM78 (1900m)
#3 – Barazin @ $4.00
Barazin owns three wins from his last four starts, including wins at Kembla Grange, Canterbury, and Eagle Farm.
The five-year-old son of Siyouni couldn’t have been more impressive when winning by 2.5 lengths at Eagle Farm, so $4 is a fair price.
We expect money to come for him on race night.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 4. (19:30) Shinzo Coolmore BM64 (1200m)
#6 – Pinito @ $3.70
Pinito won at Hawkesbury before spelling, and the three-year-old filly could return with a win.
The James Cummings-trained daughter of Trapeze Artist owns a win and four placings from five starts, which is a terrific record.
Having James McDonald riding does his chances no harm.
Stake: 3 Units
Race 5. (20:00) Quayclean BM72 (1250m)
#1 – Sydney Bowler @ $3.20
Sydney Bowler is unbeaten from three runs, and he returns from a long spell having last run in December 2023.
The four-year-old son of Deep Field won at Newcastle, Beaumont, and Randwick, and the win at Randwick was an excellent effort.
His recent trial form suggests he’s ready to fire up.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 6. (20:30) Kia Canterbury Night BM78 (1100m)
#2 – Edited By @ $10.00
Edited By owns five wins from 15 starts, including three wins on good surfaces, which is ideal form for this race.
The Michael Freedman-trained gelding won at Rosehill last start before resuming this preparation with two trial efforts.
2kg comes off his back and the odds are too good to pass up.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 7. (21:00) Asahi Super Dry BM72 (1200m)
#4 – Photograph @ $3.00
Photograph looked good when winning at Scone and Sandown before finishing second at Moonee Valley behind Immortal Star.
The Cummings-trained filly by Blue Point gets all favours off the inside draw and it’s another good ride for McDonald.
We expect money to come for her on race night, so snap up the $3.
Stake: 3 Units
