Caulfield horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (11:00) Ladbroke Maiden Plate (1200m)
#8 – Little Stevie @ $4.40 – Bet Now
Little Stevie has recorded five placings from five starts and that consistency could pay off here.
The three-year-old filly comes into this having finished a length behind the winner at her last two starts and they were good performances.
Craig Williams takes the ride which is a positive and with only 55kg on her back, she should go close to winning once again.
Race 2. (11:30) Ladbrokes Back Yourself Maiden Plate (1440m)
#10 – Mrs Beckham @ $2.90 – Bet Now
The three-year-old filly produced a much better run for third fresh up and she could continue to improve.
Trained by Ellerton/Zahra, the daughter of Toronado made up good ground in the straight after settling well back throughout the run.
Her third placing last start holds her in good stead for this and most of the early money has been placed on the favourite.
Race 3. (12:00) Ladbrokes Odds Boost BM64 (1440m)
#5 – Mr Monaco @ $8 – Bet Now
Richard Laming lines up the five-year-old that is having his first start since July.
The son of Monaco Consul didn’t hit his straps when last in work, but improved track conditions are usually the recipe for success.
He’s a two-time winner which meets a relatively easy field here and he could give value punters something to look at.
Race 4. (12:30) Ladbrokes Odds Boost BM64 (1000m)
#9 – Pariano @ $5 – Bet Now
Strong money is coming for Pariano and we can see why. The four-year-old is unbeaten in two fresh up starts and she has been primed with a trial win at Tatura.
Trained by Lindsay Park, we’re a little surprised she didn’t open as the favourite and punters are still getting great odds.
Her form tapers off the more runs she has, so it’s best to cash in first-up. $5 could firm into around $3.80 on race day.
Race 5. (13:00) Ladbrokes Cash In BM64 (1600m)
#2 – Ocean Heart @ $6 – Bet Now
Ocean Heart has shown good consistency to start her career and she’s a filly worth following this season.
Her four career starts have resulted in one win and two second placings. Those placings have come at her last two starts.
She finished under a half-length behind the winner at Cranbourne last start and the form out of that contest should hold up nicely.
$6 is a great price for punters.
Race 6. (13:30) Ladbrokes Cash Out BM64 (1600m)
#8 – De Little Sister @ $8 – Bet Now
Now that De Little Sister has broken through for her second career win, she might be able to kick on with it now.
The Pat Carey-trained mare has always shown promise throughout her career but was struggling to cross the line first.
She scored by 1.5 lengths at Mornington and prior to that she ran a competitive fifth in this grade at Sandown.
A repeat effort would take her close in an even field.
Race 7. (14:00) Ladbrokes Info Hub BM64 (1800m)
#7 – Mr Stylish @ $2.40 – Bet Now
Mr Stylish was too classy for them at Pakenham last start and he could start rising through the grades now.
The Phillip Stokes-trained three-year-old smashed the opposition by seven lengths after bursting down the outside in the straight.
It could be a sign of things to come for the son of Stryker and $2.40 is a fair price from bookmakers.
Race 8. (14:40) Ladbrokes Protest Payout BM70 (1440m)
#3 – Medieval Miss @ $9.50 – Bet Now
Medieval Miss has scored two wins from her last three starts and still she’s paying almost double-figure odds.
The Lindsay Park-trained runner has now won three from 10 starts and she has placed in another three races.
She will require some luck from the barrier but that shouldn’t matter too much over this distance.
Should go close at generous odds.
