Caulfield horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:35) The Big Screen Company Handicap (1800m)
#5 – Street Sheik @ $3.70 – Bet Now
The Patrick Payne-trained five-year-old is coming off a win at Great Western and it has matured into a nice type.
Despite not yet winning at Caulfield from six attempts, he has placed on four occasions. He is good enough to take that consistent form and win in the city.
Carrying only 54kg is ideal.
Race 2. (13:10) Kevin Hayes Stakes (1200m)
#2 – How Wowmantic @ $2.60 – Bet Now
We’re sticking with How Wowmantic because she has done nothing to suggest that she won’t win again.
The three-year-old filly is unbeaten after three starts and she was particularly impressive scoring at Moonee Valley last start.
She won by 1.8 lengths and she powered away from the opposition. That form should be able to stack up on Saturday grade.
Race 3. (13:45) Neds Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m)
#2 – Muntaseera @ $3 – Bet Now
It was an impressive win at Rosehill for Muntaseera and she’s likely to kick on with it.
The two-year-old from the Maher/Eustace stable is a Blue Diamond runner in the making and she deserves to be favourite for this race.
We’re expecting to see plenty of money come her way on race day, so the current quote of $3 should firm.
Race 4. (14:20) Neds Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m)
#1 – Hanseatic @ $2.25 – Bet Now
Hanseatic looks a nice type in the making after winning his first three starts.
The Anthony Freedman-trained colt scored by 1.8 lengths at Sandown before winning by 2.5 lengths at Caulfield.
He has shown a nice turn-of-foot to date and he could be the next big thing from the juvenile ranks.
We’re expecting another big effort from the star two-year-old.
Race 5. (14:55) Hyland Race Colours Autumn Stakes (1400m)
#3 – Banquo @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Banquo looks to have a nice future and he has the fitness edge over many of these runners.
The three-year-old colt produced back-to-back wins earlier this campaign, culminating in a victory at Flemington.
Anything close to that form would see him run well here and with Damien Oliver in the saddle, he should receive a good trip throughout.
Race 6. (15:30) Schweppes Rubiton Stakes (1100m)
#10 – Anaheed @ $3.80 – Bet Now
The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly is all class on her day and she demands respect at the weights.
She carries only 54kg and given that she finished third behind Loving Gaby at Group 1 level last start, she owns more class than most.
She has been primed with a trial win at Rosehill and despite drifting a touch in the betting, she should be well-backed come race day.
Race 7. (16:10) Supergardens Carlyon Cup (1600m)
#2 – Odeon @ $3.30 – Bet Now
Odeon can be tough to follow but the six-year-old scored a recent win and looks a chance here.
The son of Zacinto won by 1.5 lengths at Caulfield in December and wasn’t suited by going forward last start at Flemington.
Returning back to Caulfield, where he has won three times, is ideal. He should go close in what is an even betting affair.
Race 9. (17:30) Mud House Rose Bellmaine Stakes (1200m)
#9 – Sylvia’s Mother @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Sylvia’s Mother is all class and she could return in fine form. The four-year-old mare is a five-time winner from nine starts and she has taken on some good fields.
The Hawkes-trained mare finished third in the Group 3 Cockram Stakes when last to the races, which is going to be good form for this.
She gets the inside draw with only 55kg on her back and everything points towards a win.
