Race 1. (11:15) Ladbrokes Odds Boost Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Star Surprise – Bet Now
Mike Moroney lines up the two-year-old gelding which ran second to Can’t Be Done on debut but has since won.
The son of Sidereus scored by a length at Echuca last start after coming from well off the pace and that bodes well for this.
The Moroney stable is firing at the moment and he looks good enough to turn around that debut defeat with experience under his belt now.
Race 2. (11:45) Ladbrokes Cash In Handicap (1200m)
#2 – Fragonard – Bet Now
Fragonard is looking to turn around three consecutive third placings and she has the ability to do so.
James Cummings lines up the five-year-old mare which was two lengths behind the winner last start and she owns five career wins, so keep her safe.
Craig Williams rides and he has been in form this season.
Race 3. (12:20) Ladbrokes BM78 (1400m)
#3 – Satori – Bet Now
Satori has been around the mark throughout his career with 11 starts for four wins and five placings.
The Matt Cumani-trained runner didn’t fire at Flemington two starts back but battled nicely for third at Sandown last start.
Gets another run on this track and securing an inside draw should bring it into contention.
Race 4. (12:55) Ladbrokes Cash Out Handicap (1400m)
#11 – Falls – Bet Now
Mick Kent lines up the three-year-old gelding which was no match for a tough field at Flemington last start. That was taken out by Sure Knee and Falls drops nicely in class for this.
Carrying 54kg is going to help and we’re prepared to go again with him. He looked good winning two back on this track and he should be paying nice odds.
Should only strengthen up with recent racing.
Race 5. (13:30) Ladbrokes Info Hub Handicap (1400m)
#3 – Organza – Bet Now
Organza is another Cummings-trained runner which is nearing a long overdue win. The four-year-old mare has rattled off five consecutive placings and has found a winnable race.
She does own four wins from 17 starts and with only 55kg on her back and Craig Williams in the saddle, she looks a great winning hope.
Small field of only nine runners will also help.
Race 6. (14:10) Ladbrokes $101 Odds Handicap (2000m)
#2 – Aristocratic Miss – Bet Now
Last-start winner which is good enough to kick on with it. The Tony McEvoy-trained filly has done a lot of racing with 22 starts, but she’s in fit order.
She has been in the money in 13 of her 22 starts and that consistency has rewarded punters for the most part.
59.5kg on her back but she’s capable of carrying it.
Race 7. (14:50) Ladbrokes Back Yourself Handicap (1200m)
#9 – Gododdin – Bet Now
Gododdin is looking to rebound after a poor showing behind Charlayne at Randwick last start but she looked much better prior to that.
The Cummings-trained three-year-old scored a 1.5-length win at Canterbury, which capped off some good trial form.
54.5kg on her back with Craig Williams and she could offer punters with some value.
Race 8. (15:30) Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m)
#13 – Soothing @ $4 – Bet Now
Soothing is a five-win four-year-old which is coming off three trials. The daughter of Lonhro finished fourth at her most recent start in November and returns here for the first time in 2019.
Another Cummings-trained runner which has been well-backed to win and we’d be surprised if she wasn’t in the money.
Drawn well and she’s weighted well.
Race 9. (16:10) Ladbrokes Multiverse BM90 (1700m)
#1 – Al Galayel – Bet Now
Six-time winner which is better for the fresh up seventh at Sandown. Having had that experience on this track helps and he could add some value.
He has a win and a placing second-up and he gets some weight off his back from Teo Nugent. That takes his weight down to 60kg and he can win carrying that.
