Race 1. (12:20) Sharp Eit Handicap (1800m)
#2 – Ain’tnodeeldun @ $1.80
Ain’tnodeeldun comes off three consecutive wins, including an impressive victory at The Valley last time out.
The six-year-old son of Dundeel is a seven-time winner overall, and getting barrier three should see him land in a good spot.
We’re not surprised by the short odds.
Race 2. (12:50) MRC Foundation BM84 (1400m)
#6 – Robusto @ $6
Chris Waller lines up the four-year-old gelding who hasn’t had the best luck this preparation.
The son of Churchill ran seventh at Flemington last time out behind Pascero, which is a tidy form guide for this level of racing.
James McDonald rides, which adds to his appeal.
Race 3. (13:25) Bravo Damien Oliver BM80 (1600m)
#6 – Maracana @ $6
Maracana is racing well enough to win this race, and punters get value odds.
The five-year-old daughter of Shamexpress has yet to fire from three starts at Flemington, but she is a winner at the distance.
Getting 2kg off her back is ideal.
Race 4. (14:00) Manhari Metals Thoroughbred Club Stakes (1200m)
#7 – Commemorative @ $3
Commemorative was backed and beaten when sixth at Flemington last time out, but we’re happy to give her another chance.
The James Cummings-trained filly looked good when winning on debut at Canterbury before placing at Randwick.
It’s another good ride for McDonald.
Race 5. (14:35) Neds Village Stakes (1100m)
#11 – Sghirripa @ $2.60
Sghirripa comes off consecutive wins at Morphettville, and he’s good enough to win in Melbourne.
The speedy son of Lonhro owns five wins and four placings from 11 starts, and he won by two lengths last time out.
Carrying 54kg is ideal, and the odds are worth taking.
Race 6. (15:10) Catanach’s Jewellers Blue Sapphire Stakes (1400m)
#1 – Arkansas Kid @ $2.60
Arkansas Kid looked good when winning at Caulfield two back before finishing fourth at Flemington.
The three-year-old colt by Harry Angel has always had plenty of ability, and having Oliver in the saddle boosts his chances.
Having winning form at the track is another positive.
Race 9. (17:05) Metcap Finance Victorian Country Cups (2000m)
#5 – Maktoob @ $5.50
Maktoob won well at Caulfield two back and followed it up with a win at Sale.
The five-year-old son of Awtaad defeated a good field last time out, so that form stacks up nicely against this company.
Carrying 55.5kg is ideal, and punters get each-way odds.
Race 10. (17:40) Neds How Now Stakes (1200m)
#2 – She Dances @ $2.80
She Dances won her last two starts impressively, and with seven wins from 13 starts overall, it’s tough to bet against her.
The four-year-old mare by Street Boss won at The Valley last time out, which is an excellent form guide for this contest.
She only needs a touch of luck from the draw.
