Caulfield horse racing tips
Race 1. (12:15) Inglis Debutante Stakes (1000m)
#8 – Pounce @ $5.50 – Bet Now
Team Hawkes lines up Pounce, which scored a trial win at Rosehill to prepare for this run.
The two-year-old filly scored that trial win by 3.8 lengths and it should hold her in good stead for this debut run.
Drawing wide isn’t ideal but he has good barrier speed and so it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
Nice odds on offer for the promising type which could pounce late.
Race 2. (12:50) Weekend Hussler Stakes (1400m)
#2 – Renewal @ $3.70 – Bet Now
Renewal has come of age this year with three consecutive wins on the bounce. The five-year-old scored narrowly at Caulfield last start and could kick on with it now.
He’s a professional seven-time winner which has found his confidence and he’s always going to be dangerous now.
Punters have taken the opening odds on offer and we’re expecting his current price of $3.70 to drop further.
Race 3. (13:25) Thoroughbred Club Stakes (1200m)
#2 – Loving Gaby @ $2.70 – Bet Now
Loving Gaby is coming off a terrific win in the Scarborough Stakes and she could kick on with it now.
Her class has been thrown throughout her career, which included placings behind the likes of Microphone and Castelvecchio.
That’s Group 1 form and given that she’s still maturing as a three-year-old filly, she has plenty more wins in store.
$2.70 is a fair price after opening higher at $3.50.
Race 4. (14:00) Beef Steaks Stakes (1200m)
#13 – Tofane @ $17 – Bet Now
Tofane was extremely disappointing when running last at Caulfield on September 21, but she could bounce back quickly.
Her form prior included a win at Moonee Valley where she defeated Haut Brion Her, which has subsequently won.
She will get a good run from barrier five and although there are some nice types in this field, the $17 appeals.
She’s certainly worth backing on an each-way basis.
Race 5. (14:35) Herbert Power Stakes (2400m)
#15 – Hang Man @ $8.50 – Bet Now
Mike Moroney’s stable has been firing this season and Hang Man could create a big upset in the Herbert Power.
The five-year-old gelding was an impressive winner when down in class at Benalla last start but it still came in a cups race.
He’s going to need a career-best performance here but the distance is ideal and the 53kg on his back is ideal.
$8.50 is well worth taking.
Race 10. (17:45) Schillaci Stakes (1100m)
#3 – The Bostonian @ $6.50 – Bet Now
The winner of this race gets into The Everest and The Bostonian could be the best winning chance.
He’s a multiple Group 1 winner in Australia and it would be good to see a New Zealand-trained runner in the field.
His run for ninth at The Valley was good enough last start and racing at Caulfield is only going to help his chances.
Nice odds on offer with bookmakers.
