Winx resumes in the 2018 Chipping Norton Stakes this Saturday at Randwick and there will be a big crowd on hand.
Unfortunately for punters the field has been scared off by champion mare Winx, and all we’re left with are some resuming stayers and midweek city types.
Winx won’t lose the Chipping Norton and she should put 10 lengths on this field, but we’ll try find the best value elsewhere in the race.
Be sure to shop around for the best odds this weekend and we recommend checking out new bookmaker Neds.

Chipping Norton Stakes Form Guide & Tips
Classic Uniform (Best Roughie- $41) – BET NOW
Classic Uniform is an unlikely winner of the Chipping Norton Stakes but he defeated some quality types when scoring consecutive wins last campaign.
The Gary Moore-trained front runner makes his own luck in the lead and he’s tough to run down on his day.
Winx will reel him in with ease, but he could battle on well for the place at big odds.
Who Shot Thebarman ($201) – BET NOW
Most punters love backing the former Kiwi runner, but the $201 accurately reflects his chances of the mile.
He’s better suited over 2400-3200m and it’s tough to see the nine-year-old firing a shot in this race, despite many runners being in a similar situation.
Libran ($51) – BET NOW
Libran is fresh up after running fourth in a recent trial and although he’s looking for more ground, he has won twice fresh up from eight starts.
The Chris Waller-trained gelding finished a gallant eighth in the Melbourne Cup and the last time he came up against Winx it resulted in a sixth at Randwick.
That’s likely his goal again and we can’t see him troubling the scorers here.
Prized Icon (Best Each Way – $14) – BET NOW
Prized Icon has won $1.8 million and he deserves some respect after having two runs in this campaign.
The Kris Lees-trained stayer was only a half-length behind Endless Drama at Randwick last start and that followed a second placing behind Lanciato.
He’s looking to get back to his Derby-winning form and although the mile is short of his best, he has won twice over this distance and he could give most of these something to think about.
Stampede (Best Bet – $1.60 to place) – BET NOW
Stampede represents good place value after his hit out at Randwick last start.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained five-year-old will settle near the pace and he has won two of his three second-up starts, which reads well for this race.
He’s unsuited by the weights but apart from Winx, he’s the best miler in this race and his place odds are good enough for punters to take.
We’re confident he can fill the two minor positions.
Jemedar ($91) – BET NOW
Four-year-old which has won his last two races but not anywhere close to this level.
Winning consecutive races at Canterbury in benchmark grade isn’t going to cut it here and he’ll finish well down the track.
Winx ($1.08) – BET NOW
Analysis isn’t needed for Winx and she’ll win this with ease.
Continues to face sub-par fields that are largely made up of her stablemates, but she can only beat what’s put in front of her and that’s very little this Saturday.
Hugh Bowman will ease her to the line but she should be putting 10 lengths on this field.
Lasqueti Spirit ($101) – BET NOW
Hasn’t done much since winning the Oaks at Flemington.
Struggling to beat one runner home and although she possesses plenty of early toe, she’ll be joined in front and that should see her feel the pinch late.
Vinland ($71) – BET NOW
Good on connections for having a stab in the dark, but it will likely come up short.
The three-year-old carries only 1kg less than Winx and that spells disaster for the Sebring colt.
He just can’t win on those weights and he’d only be a chance at 51kg.
