Coolmore Classic Form Guide & Tips

1. Invincible Gem ($26) Bet Now

Invincible Gem has talent on her day but her day hasn’t come in a while. The Lees-trained mare was 4.8 lengths behind the winner last start and that’s not great form leading into this race.

$26 is a fair quote given her form.

2. Sweet Deal (Best Each Way – $4.80) Bet Now

The John Thompson-trained mare didn’t get much luck last start but still managed to run second behind Dawn Dawn.

It was a good effort going forward and she looks a Group 1-winning prospect this season. Nash Rawiller should get cover from barrier nine and we’re expecting a top three finish.

3. Dawn Dawn ($15) Bet Now

She was too good for Sweet Deal last start. That’s going to be a good form guide for this race and we’re surprised at her long odds.

It’s not easy to go back-to-back but we wouldn’t be surprised to see her finish off stylishly once again.

4. El Dorado Dreaming ($23) Bet Now

It has been a very long time between drinks since El Dorado Dreaming broke maiden status. She has won only one of her 17 starts, and that form isn’t going to get it done here.

5. Pohutukawa ($5.50) Bet Now

The easing of the track is going to help her this Saturday, which is why she’s so short in the betting. Her best form comes on this surface and she was hitting the line with purpose last time out.

Getting into the race with 55.5kg on her back is ideal and James McDonald takes the ride, which is a bonus.

6. Con Te Partiro ($17) Bet Now

She’s not the luckiest mare going around, but she has the ability to cause an upset. The imported mare by Scat Daddy made a big impression when first arriving in Australia, but not much has gone right since.

She’s a chance with luck in running.

7. Sylvia’s Mother (Best Bet – $4.40) Bet Now

Sylvia’s Mother has been in great form this season, with back-to-back wins at Caulfield and Flemington. She owns a stack of ability and she shouldn’t be worried about the rise to the mile.

She’s a versatile type that owns seven wins from 11 starts, and that’s tough to ignore. Bookmakers have her safe in the market and she’s our best bet.

8. Delectation Girl ($26) Bet Now

The Lees-trained runner is coming off a solid run for second but we can’t see her winning at this level. She hasn’t crossed the line first in some time now, so look for a better betting opportunity.

9. Noire ($20) Bet Now

The six-year-old isn’t firing this season, and she hasn’t finished better than fourth at her last nine starts. We would look at others in this race.

10. Oceanex ($31) Bet Now

She scored a win at Flemington last start in November, and she makes her return here. The daughter of Ocean Park has been primed with a trial win at Cranbourne and she owns upset claims.

$31 is a fair price from bookmakers.

11. Spanish Whisper ($11) Bet Now

Her second-up form reads well with four starts for two wins and two second placings. There has been solid money come her way at odds, so don’t discount her chances.

12. Miss Fabulass ($31) Bet Now

Another runner for Kris Lees. She has the ability on her day but she doesn’t show it all that often. We would need to see some improvement before backing her.

13. Fiesta ($34) Bet Now

Her form doesn’t read well, which is a shame given how well she started her career. The Waller-trained mare is better in these conditions, so keep in mind if it rains on Saturday.

14. Sweet Scandal (Best Roughie – $19) Bet Now

Sweet Scandal could cause an upset at generous odds. She was doing her best work late last start, and with 52kg on her back, that brings her right into contention.

15. Benitoite ($34) Bet Now

Her two runs this campaign haven’t inspired much confidence. She’s better-suited to the Melbourne way of going.

16. Acting ($34) Bet Now

Well-beaten last start and she’ll be struggling to keep up.
