We have expert betting tips for the card this Friday night at Cranbourne that features nine quality betting races.
We’re hoping the smoke disappears and this meeting goes ahead after the cancellation of Caulfield on Wednesday.
Punters are getting good value throughout the night and we have our best value bets.
Cranbourne horse racing tips
Race 1. (18:00) R&C Asphalt & Paving Maiden (1600m)
#3 – Full Ahead @ $2.35 – Bet Now
Full Ahead put the writing on the wall when running second at Yarra Valley and she could go one better this time around.
The four-year-old by All Too Hard only narrowly missed on the heavy track and despite her poor form over this distance, she doesn’t have much to beat here.
Drawing barrier five should be enough to see her right in the thick of the action.
Race 2. (18:30) O’Brien R.E. Cranbourne Maiden (1300m)
#8 – Rich Hips @ $6 – Bet Now
Rich Hips showed mixed form during her first campaign but there was enough ability on display.
The Busuttin/Young-trained three-year-old didn’t run well on debut but quickly improved to finish third at Swan Hill.
She made good ground from the back of the field at Bendigo last start and resuming over 1300m should help her cause.
Punters are getting value odds.
Race 3. (19:00) O’Brien Real Estate Berwick Maiden (1300m)
#8 – The Driller @ $2.60 – Bet Now
It won’t take The Driller long to break maiden grades and there is plenty of support for him in this race.
The well-bred son of Sea the Stars has placed in all three starts to date and this looks an easier target.
He battled on nicely at Mornington last start and with a repeat effort, he could be good enough to take this out.
Race 4. (19:30) TAB Long May We Play Maiden (2025m)
#6 – Skyt @ $3.90 – Bet Now
The Richard Laming stable is going well this season and they could score another win with Skyt.
He’s a three-year-old that has yet to win from four stars, but he produced a better effort for second at Stony Creek last start.
Going from the mile to the 2025m should suit him and he’s bred to enjoy the longer distances.
Punters are getting fair odds and he could start favourite with a betting push on race night.
Race 5. (20:00) O’Brien R.E. Keysborough BM64 (3000m)
#7 – Maid Marion @ $5.50 – Bet Now
The four-year-old mare has her confidence up after scoring a maiden win at Warrnambool last time out.
She is a well-bred daughter of Camelot that needed a rise in distance to score the win and stepping up to 3000m looks ideal.
She’s going to get a dream run off the inside barrier and we’re confident she can continue her winning run.
Punters are getting good odds.
Race 6. (20:30) O’Brien Real Wantirna BM64 (2025m)
#6 – Clifford Snowflake @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Clifford Snowflake is a capable son of Canford Cliffs that is due an improved performance this season.
The four-year-old was a one-length winner at Wangaratta in June before running three fair races since.
His last two starts have resulted in third and a fourth. He finished within a length of the winner on both occasions, so they were better than they appeared.
Good odds on offer and he should give punters a good sight.
Race 7. (21:00) O’Brien Real Wantirna BM64 (1400m)
#7 – High Beam @ $6.50 – Bet Now
High Beam was good enough to win multiple races last time in work and she could fire up after two runs this campaign.
The four-year-old mare looked good when running second on this track last start and she stuck on gamely throughout.
Drawing barrier 11 could make it hard for her to find a forward position, but Jamie Kah takes the ride and there has been good early betting support.
Race 8. (21:30) Mercedez-Benz Mornington BM64 (1000m)
#4 – Bold Type @ $9.50 – Bet Now
Not the most consistent type, Bold Type can be tough to follow but he’s talented at best.
The four-year-old is coming off a steady performance for second at Cranbourne and he’s at much shorter odds for this run.
Drawing the inside barrier is going to see him settle close to the pace and he’s a value runner at the odds.
Race 9. (22:00) O’Brien R.E Living Local BM64 (1300m)
#9 – Mistress Molly @ $3.30 – Bet Now
Mistress Molly has been getting closer to a win this season after placing in three of her four starts.
She ran well for second last time out and although drawing wide in barrier 14 doesn’t help, she has more class than most in this field.
$3.30 is a fair price.
