Cranbourne racing tips
—
Race 1. (17:15) Highview Accounting Maiden (1000m)
#4 – Scorched Lane @ $2.25
Consistency is with Scorched Lane, who owns three placings from three starts at Echuca, Bendigo, and Sale.
The three-year-old son of Too Darn Hot was a short margin behind the winner last time out when going down as a $1.55 chance. However, punters should keep the faith.
He will break maidens soon, and this is his best chance.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 2. (17:45) Designer Coolrooms Maiden (2580m)
#3 – Just Landed @ $4.80
Just Landed comes off four consecutive placings, including last time out at Cranbourne behind Global Eclipse, who has since run at the top level.
The four-year-old son of Alpine Eagle owns six placings from 12 starts, and his best form comes on good surfaces.
Given the each-way odds, we’re happy to include him in picks.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 3. (18:15) Betavet Maiden (1300m)
#7 – Machete @ $2.05
Looking to improve on his debut fifth at Sandown is Machete, who should only improve with that run under her belt.
The three-year-old filly by Hellbent is bred to be winning races early in her career, and that’s why she has been well-backed again.
She’s worth including in multis at the current odds.
Stake: 2 Units
Race 4. (18:45) Springvale RSL C1 (1300m)
#2 – Royal Hill @ $5.50
Royal Hill looked good winning fresh up at Seymour by a length, and he’s good enough to make it back-to-back wins.
The three-year-old son of So You Think has been right around the mark throughout his career, and barrier three is ideal.
We’re happy with the each-way odds available from bookmakers.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 5. (19:15) Grand Ridge Arenas BM64 (1200m)
#6 – Impish Lady @ $3.50
Gunning for consecutive wins is Impish Lady, who won at Geelong by 2.5 lengths from break maidens.
The four-year-old daughter of Impending looks to have more ability than most, which is why there is money coming for her.
Barrier 11 isn’t ideal, but if she gets cover, she should put them away.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 6. (19:45) Do It for Dolly Day BM70 (1600m)
#11 – Queen of Tuscany @ $3.20
Looking to cap off consecutive placings is Queen of Tuscany, who placed at Pakenham behind some decent types.
The five-year-old mare by Fiorente owns four wins and eight placings, including a win and a placing from three starts at Cranbourne.
The $3.20 odds are worth snapping up.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 7. (20:15) Mitavite Athlete Plus BM64 (2060m)
#2 – Slane @ $6.00
Looking to get back to winning form is Slane, who is much better than his recent form suggests.
The five-year-old son of Highland Reel is a three-time winner overall, and he owns a win and two placings at Cranbourne.
Getting 3kg off his back could be enough to see him turn back time and win.
Stake: 1 Unit
