Race 2. (13:20) Highway Handicap (1000m)
#9 – Takookacod @ $7.50 – BET NOW
We’re not convinced hot favourite Victorem deserves to be a $1.95 chance and the value is with Takookacod at a much better quote.
The three-year-old filly was a one-length winner two starts back in November and she had no luck when running ninth behind Volpe last start.
That came in a strong Highway Handicap race and she gets into this race even better off on the weights. The 2kg claim takes her weight down to 51kg and that should make her awfully tough to beat.
Race 4. (14:30) Inglis Nursery (1000m)
#10 – Miss Invincible @ $3.90 – BET NOW
Bjorn Baker lines up Miss Invincible, which was a gallant placegetter on debut at Rosehill.
The two-year-old filly by I Am Invincible was taken on in front for most of the race and to finish only a neck behind the winner was a credible effort.
She will take plenty of benefit from that run and despite drawing wide in barrier 13, she has enough pace to cross the field and lead them up.
Race 5. (15:05) Catanach’s Handicap (1200m)
#12 – Sugar Bella @ $3.70 – BET NOW
The long layoff for Sugar Bella didn’t seem to concern the four-year-old mare which scored easily last start.
That fresh up win came by 2.8 lengths and it showed just how impressive the daughter of Not a Single Doubt can be.
She extended her career record to three wins from four starts and she looks to have many more wins in store this season.
This will be her toughest test to date by some margin, but dropping down in weight to 53kg with Kerrin McEvoy in the saddle makes up for that.
Race 6. (15:40) Right2drive Handicap (1600m)
#2 – Sedanzer @ $3.40 – BET NOW
Sedanzer has come of age this season with consecutive wins and she looks primed for more success.
The Waterhouse/Bott-trained four-year-old defeated the talented Slow Burn fresh up before scoring a 1.5-length win at Rosehill last start.
She was good enough to run in the Oaks at Morphettville last season where she ran fifth behind Egg Tart and that form is starting to show up impressively.
Rising right up in the weights won’t help her chances, but she has faced harder fields than this.
Race 7. (16:20) Inglis Villiers Stakes (1600m)
#8 – Interlocuter @ $3.50 – BET NOW
Punters will be loving the odds around Interlocuter and there is some good value on offer.
The James Cummings-trained import has rattled off three consecutive wins and he has been the short favourite on all three occasions.
The son of Medaglia d’Oro won at odds of $2.40, $1.80 and $1.50 – which makes the $3.50 on offer seem like great value and it is.
There has been money for Mister Sea Wolf, but Interlocuter is up and running and ready to win again.
Race 9. (17:40) Tabcorp Handicap (1400m)
#9 – Malaise @ $4.80 – BET NOW
Malaise typically shows his best form second up with two starts for one win and one placing.
The Cummings-trained four-year-old has raced against the likes of Hey Doc and Inference throughout his career and this is a much easier target this time around.
There was plenty to like about his run last start after travelling wide and with a better trip in transit here, he looks a strong winning chance.

Race 3. (14:10) Tile Importer Handicap (1440m)
#11 – Folk Song @ $4.20 – BET NOW
Lindsay Park lines up Folk Song, which was a stylish winner at Cranbourne last start.
The filly by Street Cry finished just behind the leaders on debut, but showed her real potential when scoring by three lengths after leading throughout on November 24.
Showing that she can lead easily and still give a kick is a good sign and we’re expecting another tidy effort from the three-year-old.
Race 4. (14:45) Sheamus Mills Bloodstock Handicap (1700m)
#6 – Vinland @ $2.25 – BET NOW
Vinland couldn’t have been more impressive at Sandown last start when winning by 1.75 lengths over Atone.
The Tony McEvoy-trained three-year-old colt handled the heavy track easily, but he’s good enough to win on any racing surface.
Having raced in the Inglis Nursery at Randwick this time last year, he knows how to handle the pressure of big races and that’s experience his rivals don’t have.
Race 5. (15:20) Clanbrooke Racing Handicap (1700m)
#1 – Mrs Gardenia @ $2.90 – BET NOW
The four-year-old mare is a professional type which has won five of her 12 starts with another four placings.
Trained by Darren Weir, the daughter of Rip Van Winkle is in fine form having won by 1.25 lengths at Sandown last start.
She hasn’t finished worse than second at her last five starts and punters love a consistent horse.
That bodes well for this run and getting a 2kg claimer in the saddle is only going to help her chances.
Race 9. (17:55) Le Pine Funerals Handicap (1100m)
#13 – Creativity @ $5 – BET NOW
$5 is a good price for a talented sprinter which is coming off a solid second placing at Ballarat last start.
The Ellerton/Zahra-trained four-year-old has won two of her seven starts, but arguably her best result to date was when she finished third behind Ken’s Dream in a tough race at Caulfield in April.
She needed the run last time out after seven months off and we’re confident that she will continue her good second-up form here.
