Caulfield free tips & form
Race 1. (13:25) Allan Wicks BM70 (1200m)
#5 – Gina’s Hope @ $2.70 – BET NOW
Mitchell Freedman lines up the four-year-old, which has won her last two starts in impressive fashion. She scored by two lengths at Kyneton two back and backed that up with a 1.3-length win at Echuca.
She hasn’t beaten much but her turn-of-foot has been impressive and she looks a nice type that will progress through the grades.
Barrier 10 poses some doubts but her class might get her over the line.
Race 3. (14:35) Dennis Hanrahan BM84 (1400m)
#2 – Flying Krupt @ $3 – BET NOW
Looking for her third consecutive win is Flying Krupt, which couldn’t have won more easily last start at Morphettville. The four-year-old scored by 3.5 lengths and suggested that she was good enough to win in Melbourne.
That will be put to the test here and having Craig Williams in the saddle will take her a long way. Punters have been backing her in the early markets at $3 and that price might not last.
Race 4. (15:10) Frank O’Brien BM70 (1400m)
#10 – Immaculate Secret @ $5 – BET NOW
A Daughter of High Chaparral which has recorded three wins from six starts and has yet to miss a placing in her professional career to date.
She opened at $5.50 and has firmed into $5, which isn’t surprising and we’re expecting a betting push to come in her favour.
The bigger track of Caulfield will help following her win at The Valley.
Race 7. (17:10) Ladbrokes Christmas Stakes (1200m)
#3 – Native Soldier @ $3 – BET NOW
Returned after a two-month break to run fourth behind Whispering Brook at Flemington last start and his form prior was an excellent form guide for this.
Trained by Darren Weir, the three-year-old son of Sepoy has won two of his six starts at Caulfield, including 2.8 and two-length wins earlier this year.
He has the ability to run them into the ground and that’s going to be made easier with only 54kg and Craig Williams on his back.
Race 8. (17:45) Ladbrokes BM78 (1600m)
#6 – Casino Fourteen @ $3.70 – BET NOW
Did the job well last start and he has always shown ability at this level. The Weir-trained four-year-old scored by 2.8 lengths at Bendigo and that form should be good for this.
That win came in this grade and although he rises in weight, he’s a big strapping lad and won’t have any issues carrying it.
$3.70 is a fair price from bookmakers.
Randwick free tips and form
Race 1. (13:05) TAB BM70 (1600m)
#1 – Zalatte @ $1.70 – BET NOW
Unsure if she will appreciate the wet track conditions but the Chris Waller-trained filly has looked good in two starts on a good track.
The three-year-old is unbeaten after two runs and she hit the line powerfully when winning at Rosehill last start. That form will stack up nicely for this but punters will have to take short odds.
Looks too tough for them in the opener.
Race 4. (14:45) Australian Turf Club BM70 (1100m)
#10 – Transmitter @ $4.60 – BET NOW
The James Cummings-trained filly has been running against easier opposition but she has looked good in doing so. She hit the line with real purpose when winning at Kembla Grange two back and she backed that up with a similar effort at Gosford.
She takes on some smart types here but her turn-of-speed has been impressive enough to suggest she could continue winning in the city.
She’ll likely settle back and come with a big burst late.
Race 5. (15:30) ANZ Bloodstock News BM64 (1100m)
#11 – Prophet’s Thumb @ $4.80 – BET NOW
Scored by 1.5 lengths on debut at Wyong before being thrown in the deep end when contesting the Heritage Stakes at Randwick.
The filly didn’t quite handle the occasion when finishing sixth behind Ragged Rascal but punters should look at her maiden win as a better form guide.
There are some nice types in this field but certainly no superstars. She could mature into a good sort and she has the most scope.
Race 7. (16:50) Summer Cup (2000m)
#2 – Aloisia @ $4.60 – BET NOW
Former top three-year-old which hasn’t matured this year but she produced a good run for second behind Sky Boy and that appears to be the best form going forward.
The daughter of Azamour chased hard after settling at the rear of the field and if she brings her best form into this, she’s going to be tough to hold out.
$4.60 is a solid each way quote and she will have her backers come Boxing Day.
