Doomben free tips & form

Race 1. (11:32) Bernie’s Produce BM90 (2200m)

#2 – Mishani Vaidra @ $2.60 – Bet Now

Ben Currie lines up the four-year-old mare which has seven wins and five placings from only 14 starts.

The consistent mare has yet to run worse than second in four starts on this track and although beaten at Toowoomba last time out, she looked good prior to that.

Tough field here but $2.60 is a fair price and she gets requires a good ride.

Race 2. (12:08) Peachester Lodge 2YO Plate (1200m)

#8 – Gem Of Scotland @ $3 – Bet Now

She’s a two-year-old filly which is unbeaten after three starts and she has looked like a true professional in the process.

The daughter of Rothesay has won on three different race tracks and faces another change of scenery here, but she has more than coped with it so far in her career.

$3.30 has firmed into $3 and she should start as the clear favourite.

Race 3. (12:43) Oscar Oscar Salons 0MW (1110m)

#2 – Meet Mr Taylor @ $2.80 – Bet Now

Suffered his first defeat from six starts last time out when running a close fourth at Doomben. He didn’t lose any admirers with that run as he was only a length behind the winner.

He was victorious in his first five starts, which included two wins at Doomben and although drawing barrier 10 could make it tough, he has good tactical speed.

$2.80 is a fair price being offered by bookmakers.

Race 4. (13:18) Big Difference Consulting BM75 (1615m)

#10 – Ponytales @ $10 – Bet Now

Nice odds on offer for the Tony Gollan-trained runner which hasn’t had much luck in recent times.

The four-year-old mare raced three wide last start but was just behind the winner. Her best form comes on this track with six starts for two wins and two second placings.

There are some nice types in this race but she’s a clear value runner at the double-figure odds.

Race 5. (13:53) Aquis Tails Quality (1615m)

#1 – Tom Melbourne @ $3.80 – Bet Now

The quality that Tom Melbourne possesses could be enough to see him over the line here after a good run last time out.

That came in the Doncaster Prelude behind Mister Sea Wolf and given that he has already won this year, he should be ready to fire for this.

He is an enigmatic type at the best of times but he’s worth following.

Race 6. (14:28) Tab Ascot Quality (1200m)

#2 – I’m A Rippa @ $3.80 – Bet Now

Five-year-old gelding I’m A Rippa is fresh up here and he rarely goes a bad race in this state. He has had six fresh up starts for one win and five placings.

Drawing barrier two is going to see him land in a good spot and having had 21 starts on this track, he knows every blade of grass.

Not much between this field and he should be right in the thick of the action.

Race 7. (15:07) Spirit of Boom Mick Dittman (1100m)

#3 – Plague Stone @ $3.20 – Bet Now

Plague Stone is a highly-talented type for James Cummings, which resumes here after winning a trial at Rosehill by 4.8 lengths.

He’s a son of Lonhro which has underachieved with one win from seven starts but he has form behind the likes of Graff, Sandbar and Written By.

That’s Group 1-winning form and he has every chance to beat a field of this quality.

Race 8. (15:47) Ray White Ascot Princess Stakes (1615m)

#12 – Word For Word @ $3.60 – Bet Now

The Chris Waller-trained filly was a good winner at Randwick last start and now makes the rise in class.

She is a filly by So You Think, which capped off some consistent form with a stylish win at midweek level and although she’s running against some nice types here, she’s a progressive sort.

We would wait for a better price with bookmakers as she could start at longer odds on the day.

Race 9. (16:27) Tab BM85 (1350m)

#16 – Splitter @ $9 – Bet Now

Twice a winner already this campaign and she gets into this race with a light weight and every chance to win.

The four-year-old has yet to win from five starts at Doomben but her last two runs on the track have resulted in placings.

$9 is worth the risk.
