Doomben horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (11:23) Happy Retirement Redzel Maiden (2240m)
#5 – Jerry Zanda – Bet Now
Jerry Zanda is a three-year-old that finds an easy maiden race and he could take advantage. Trained by Tony Gollan, the son of Lucas Cranach ran second two back and a repeat takes him close.
He finished only a half-head behind the winner and although beaten last start, that came in heavy conditions. Expect a better run this time around.
Race 2. (11:58) Tab Maiden Plate (1050m)
#3 – Kipchoge – Bet Now
Kipchoge is on debut for Tony Gollan after producing a pleasing trial effort at Doomben. The two-year-old ran second in a competitive trial and we’re expecting money to be on.
The son of Rich Enuff should attract plenty of bets and his odds should be reflective of his chances.
Race 3. (12:33) Thank You School Teachers Maiden (1050m)
#11 – Sweet Rhapsody – Bet Now
The Les Ross-trained filly owns three races worth of experience and that should help her cause here.
She’s a filly by Spill the Beans that finished third at Sunshine Coast two starts back before running fourth at Doomben last time out.
It’s not an easy field but she should represent each-way value.
Race 4. (13:08) General Nediym Maiden (1200m)
#9 – Central America- Bet Now
The three-year-old filly owns plenty of ability and she showed that throughout her first campaign. She placed in two of her four runs and she could make a winning resumption here.
Steven O’Dea lines up the daughter of Sebring, which is well-bred and ready to breakthrough for her maiden victory.
Put her on top in a tricky field.
Race 5. (13:43) Mossman Handicap (1350m)
#1 – Cellarmaid – Bet Now
Cellarmaid is a classy customer that took on strong company last start and didn’t show her best. However, she drops in grade for this run and it should provide results.
Kelly Schweida lines up the daughter of Husson that is a past winner at Doomben and her best form should be on display.
Race 6. (14:18) Written Tycoon C1 Plate (1350m)
#10 – Pull Anchor- Bet Now
Pull Anchor has finished in the money in eight of her 10 starts and there’s nothing wrong with that career record.
The three-year-old went close at Sunshine Coast last time out and a repeat of that performance would see him go close once again.
Drawing barrier two helps her cause and punters could get good odds.
Race 7. (14:53) Lion Hunter BM65 (1650m)
#4 – Enterprise Jack – Bet Now
Enterprise Jack is knocking on the door after four consecutive placings this campaign. The four-year-old is a two-time winner that could get back to winning form.
He was only two lengths behind the winner last start and a repeat effort would see him run very close. Punters will get nice odds and dropping back in distance won’t do his chances any harm.
Race 8. (15:28) Brave Warrior BM62 (1050m)
#4 – The Wild One – Bet Now
The Wild One scored back-to-back wins to open his last campaign and he could kick off this campaign in fine style.
He’s a talented three-year-old gelding that wasn’t asked for much in a recent trial and he should be ready to fire first-up.
He will need luck from barrier 10 but he goes close with cover.
Race 9. (16:03) Show a Heart BM75 (1200m)
#2 – Coral Bay – Bet Now
Coral Bay is getting close to a win after consecutive placings coming into this race. The Stuart Kendrick-trained gelding owns a good overall record and he could add to it.
He has seven wins from 31 starts and punters will get a good price for him to win again. Consider at nice odds.
Race 10. (16:38) XXXX Dry BM62 (1200m)
#5 – Genzai the Wolf – Bet Now
Genzai the Wolf has yet to finish worse than second from three starts and he could add another tidy effort to his record.
The three-year-old colt won at Sunshine Coast two starts back before running second at the same track last start.
He hasn’t run for some time now but consider.
