Race 1. (11:28) TAB Handicap (2200m)
#5 – Our Mantra – Bet Now
Can’t be stopped at the moment after posting another win last Saturday and punters probably won’t get a value price again.
The five-year-old gelding has now won four of his last five starts and the Anderson/Heathcote Racing team has him firing on all cylinders.
54kg on the back makes him awfully tough to hold out.
Race 2. (12:03) Ray White Highway C4 (1350m)
#4 – Sugar Buzz – Bet Now
Form is with Sugar Buzz which has won three of his last five starts. The five-year-old has now won four of his 14 career starts and is heading in the right direction.
He scored only at Gatton last start but this isn’t a strong Highway field and he has the best form of any runner coming into this.
Each-way odds should be on offer.
Race 3. (12:38) Robinson Nielsen Legal BM75 (1050m)
#5 – Oradonna – Bet Now
There isn’t much covering this field and Oradonna could provide punters with some good value.
The eight-year-old mare isn’t getting any younger but scored a good win on this track fresh up and hasn’t been that far away since.
Punters should get nice odds and they’re worth taking.
Race 4. (13:13) AQWA Construction Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Alligator Blood – Bet Now
David Vandyke lines up Alligator Blood, which is unbeaten after two starts at Sunshine Coast and that form should stack up nicely.
His two trials since have been fair, resulting in two placings at Sunshine Coast and although he’s looking at a new track here, he looks an adaptable type.
Betting will be an interesting story as there’s many progressive types.
Race 5. (13:48) Eureka Stud 0MW (1200m)
#12 – Flower of Love – Bet Now
Flower of Love is a little inconsistent but when she’s on her game, she can be tough to beat.
The Kelly Schweida-trained five-year-old has finished in the money in 10 of her 12 starts and although she was sixth last start, she typically recovers nicely.
Dropping down to 54kg is ideal and she has an aggressive rider in the saddle which should help her switch on.
Race 6. (14:27) Gollan Racing 0MW (1200m)
#3 – Amenzel – Bet Now
Coming off a tidy win is Amenzel, which looks good enough to go back-to-back after posting a one-length win at Gold Coast.
The seven-year-old was knocking on the door of a win after running second fresh up and it’s another good ride for Mark du Plessis, who partners Flower of Love in Race 5.
Not an easy field but he has each-way claims.
Race 7. (15:07) Munce Racing BM70 (1630m)
#11 – Slow Hands – Bet Now
Looked to be working into the race nicely last start but just got a little too far back in the run.
The five-year-old still made good ground for fourth at Eagle Farm and his form prior included a win at Doomben by 2.3 lengths.
Returning to this track is only going to help his cause and we’re expecting a good effort.
Race 8. (15:47) Kelly Schweida Handicap (1630m)
#1 – Silvera – Bet Now
Silvera is enjoying a nice patch of form having won his last two starts for trainer Tony Gollan.
The six-year-old gelding scored by 1.3 lengths at Rockhampton before winning again at Eagle Farm by a length last start.
That’s the best form of any runner coming into this race and with the inside draw and an apprentice claimer riding, he looks the goods.
Race 9. (16:27) Queensland Country Life C6 (1350m)
#4 – Auerbach – Bet Now
Auerbach scored a close victory at Doomben last Saturday as the favourite and he should be well-favoured to win again.
The Waller-trained six-year-old has now won five of his 26 starts and although he should have won more throughout his career, moving to Queensland will help.
Looks a good chance at winning again.
