We have expert betting tips for the card this Saturday at Doomben that features nine quality betting races.
Even betting fields greet punters on Saturday and there is plenty of value to be snapped up.
Doomben horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:33) Tab Long May We Play Handicap (1600m)
#3 – Eelloh – Bet Now
Desleigh Forster lines up the three-year-old filly that has won two of her three starts. The daughter of Better Than Ready won by a length at Doomben last start and that is a good form guide.
She was able to find a good position midfield and launch with a nice late run. That should give punters confidence heading into this race.
Race 2. (12:08) Souths Sports Club BM90 (2000m)
#9 – Mangione – Bet Now
Mangione has been in work for some time now and he keeps running competitive races.
Trained by Chris Waller, the five-year-old was only a head behind the winner at Eagle Farm last start and dropping in weight is ideal.
He runs here with only 54kg on his back and that could be enough to see him winning.
Race 3. (12:43) BRC Membership Renewal C3 (1200m)
#1 – Astro Boy Toy – Bet Now
Team Edmonds lines up the four-year-old gelding that is a three-time winner from only six starts.
The son of Deep Field scored by a narrow margin at Eagle Farm last start and that holds him in good stead for the spring.
Drawing barrier eight could make it tricky but he has the class to overcome it.
Race 4. (13:18) Mount Franklin C6 Plate (1350m)
#10 – Voila @ $3.80 – Bet Now
Voila is looking for consecutive wins after scoring at Sunshine Coast. The five-year-old mare is a five-time winner for Chris Waller that gets into this race nicely.
She is a daughter of Choisir that gets in with only 55.5kg on her back and with Luke Dittman in the saddle, she should go close.
$3.80 is a fair price and she will attract attention.
Race 5. (13:57) XXXX Dry BM78 (1600m)
#4 – Amicitia @ $4.80 – Bet Now
Amicitia didn’t fire two starts back but she performed much better when third at Doomben last start.
The Tony Gollan-trained mare was only 1.8 lengths behind the winner and she was taking ground off them late in the piece.
There is good early confidence and punters get each-way odds.
Race 6. (14:37) Ascot Green C3 Plate (1200m)
#8 – Betcha Flying @ $3.90 – Bet Now
Betcha Flying is only a two-win mare but she has been running against strong fields and this is much easier.
The Waller-trained four-year-old is coming off a Group 1 effort and although well-beaten, she should be able to handle this level of racing.
$3.90 is a great price and she could firm into an odds-on quote come start time.
Race 7. (15:17) Tab Long May We Play BM78 (1050m)
#13 – Say Haya @ $2.90 – Bet Now
Say Haya is searching for her third win from her last three starts and we are expecting a tidy effort.
The Tony Gollan-trained daughter of Rothesay only scored by a nose last start but it was a determined effort in the straight.
She should get a good run from the draw and there is value in the odds.
Race 8. (15:57) Quincy Handicap (1110m)
#1 – Just Orm @ $6 – Bet Now
Just Orm is a professional seven-year-old gelding that owns five wins and six placings at Doomben.
The Gollan-trained son of Falvelon won by a nose last time out after settling midfield and coming with a big effort.
Ryan Maloney takes the ride and he could do the job.
Race 9. (16:33) Gallopers Sports Club Handicap (1350m)
#3 – Run For Glory @ $4 – Bet Now
Run For Glory has been doing exactly that after consecutive wins. The Gollan-trained gelding won by a half-length in both victories and it holds him in good stead for this.
He has yet to race at Doomben, which is a slight concern, but Jim Byrne rides and his experience is a big help.
Each-way odds are available and they are worth taking.
