Doomben horse racing tips

Race 1. (11:28) Droughtmaster BM72 (1200m)

#1 – Spiritualised @ $1.60 – Bet @ Bet365

Spiritualised hasn’t done much wrong throughout his career, including a win and two second placings.

The Tony Gollan-trained colt won at Sunshine Coast two back before finishing second behind Honey Pot last start in a tough race.

Punters have to take short odds but he should be winning.

Race 2. (12:03) Fonzie Abbott Coffee Cup BM78 (2000m)

#8 – Red Light Roxanne @ $4.20 – Bet @ Bet365

Red Light Roxanne is an experienced five-time winner who comes off a win at Doomben.

The seven-year-old mare scored by a half-length against a tidy field and being a winner on the track only helps her chances.

54kg is ideal and the odds appeal.

Race 3. (12:38) The Neilsen Group BM72 (1110m)

#8 – Self Indulgent @ $3.70 – Bet @ Bet365

Self Indulgent is fresh up and she runs some of her best races first-up and she loves racing at Doomben.

The four-year-old mare is a two-time winner at Doomben and she also has two placings, so she doesn’t know how to run a bad race here.

Barrier two is ideal and punters get fair odds.

Race 4. (13:13) Trilby Misso Lawyers BM72 (1110m)

#7 – Land of Valens @ $5.50 – Bet @ Bet365

Land of Valens was good enough to score back-to-back wins last prep and his recent trial win is an ideal guide.

The five-year-old won a trial at Rosehill and that suggests he’s ready to fire and pay a handsome each-way price in the process.

Barrier three suits and his odds could firm on race day.

Race 5. (13:48) NTL Jockeys Celebration C6 (1600m)

#2 – Get the Idea @ $3.40 – Bet @ Bet365

Get the Idea owns a win and two placings at Doomben and he could add to his record on the track.

The six-year-old son of So You Think is a six-time winner from 22 starts overall and his most recent win at Doomben is a good betting guide.

We expect money to come for him late in the piece.

Race 6. (14:27) Granddad Jack’s BM85 (1350m)

#9 – Excelman @ $9 – Bet @ Bet365

Excelman is a fresh-up specialist with two wins and he looks ready to fire after a spell.

The Richard Laming-trained six-year-old has yet to race at Doomben but his form in Melbourne is good enough to contest here.

Punters should enjoy the odds available.

Race 7. (15:07) Navaska Facilities 1MW (1200m)

#15 – Manhood @ $1.75 – Bet @ Bet365

Manhood is a smart type in the making after winning three of his four starts and he has many more wins in store.

The four-year-old won by 4.5 lengths as an odds-on favourite last start and carrying 52.5kg makes him tough to beat again.

He goes forward and he should handle the rise in class.

Race 8. (15:47) Place Ascot Nundah Handicap (1200m)

#5 – Ligulate @ $10 – Bet @ Bet365

Ligulate does his best racing fresh up and we’re going to stick with him at the value odds.

The Cody Morgan-trained seven-year-old owns two wins at Doomben and punters get $10 for him to win his third.

We’re prepared to take the risk given the price.

Race 9. (16:23) Brothers Rugby Club R78 (1350m)

#17 – Enterprise Mia @ $6 – Bet @ Bet365

Enterprise Mia is shooting for three consecutive wins after scoring at Doomben and Sunshine Coast, so we’re sticking with her.

The five-year-old won by 2.3 lengths at Doomben and having winning experience on the track only helps her chances.

Include in selections at the price.
