Doomben horse racing tips
Race 1. (11:23) Tab Long May We Play Handicap (1350m)
#3 – Fleet Dove @ $2.35 – Bet Now
Fleet Dove owns two wins from three starts and her only defeat came behind Kisukano, which is a nice type in the making.
The three-year-old scored a quality win at Doomben last start and we are expecting that form to hold up nicely for this run.
Anything above $2 is a fair price for Fleet Dove.
Race 2. (11:58) BRC Membership Renewal BM72 (1110m)
#7 – Motomiss @ $4.60 – Bet Now
Motomiss is searching for four consecutive wins after winning by 1.8 lengths at Toowoomba last time out.
The four-year-old mare faces a rise in class for this race but she demands respect and there is confidence in the market.
Punters are getting value each-way odds.
Race 3. (12:33) XXXX Dry C6 Handicap (1350m)
#7 – Roman Aureus @ $2.25 – Bet Now
Roman Aureus is the form horse of the field, having won three of his last five starts. The four-year-old is classy at best and he stormed home to win last time out.
The 2.3-length win holds him in good stead for this race and having finished in the money in seven of his 10 starts, he demands respect.
$2.25 is a good price with only 54kg on his back.
Race 4. (13:08) Souths Sports Club C3 Plate (1615m)
#3 – Reus @ $2.10 – Bet Now
Reus is the class runner of this field and he will likely firm into an odds-on quote. The Michael Costa-trained four-year-old owns three wins and six placings from nine starts.
He has yet to finish worse than third and although beaten last time out, he made impressive ground from the back of the field.
Drawing barrier two is ideal and he should go close here.
Race 5. (13:47) Tab Long May We Play BM80 (1615m)
#2 – Top Prospect @ $4.20 – Bet Now
The Kris Lees-trained gelding is looking to improve on two recent placings and he shouldn’t be far away once again.
He is a son of Swiss Ace that ran a head behind Barefoot last start and his form prior included a placing behind Milk Man.
That form bodes well for this race and punters are getting each-way odds.
Race 6. (14:27) Cascade BM72 (1110m)
#12 – Le Palmier @ $2.35 – Bet Now
One of the better backed runners of the day is Le Palmier, which recorded a 2.5-length trial win at Doomben to prepare.
The Tony Gollan-trained four-year-old is a two-time winner that has raced against some tough fields, including Alligator Blood.
His opening odds of $2.80 have firmed into $2.35 and more money is expected to come.
Race 7. (15:07) Quincy BM78 (2200m)
#8 – Lady Solerno @ $5 – Bet Now
Lady Solerno is shooting for three consecutive wins and she has every chance of doing so this Saturday.
The seven-year-old won by 2.5 lengths at Gold Coast two starts back before doubling down on that effort last time out.
She owns two placings on this track and $5 is a fair price against an even lineup.
Race 8. (15:47) Canadian Club Handicap (1050m)
#8 – Tullio @ $2.65 – Bet Now
Tullio has been perfect this preparation with four starts for four wins. The Gollan-trained five-year-old won by 3.8 lengths last start and there doesn’t appear to be any stopping him.
The son of More Than Ready owns a win and a placing on this track and he is a three-time winner at this distance.
Getting the inside draw with a light weight adds to his appeal.
Race 9. (16:23) The Village Kitchen Ascot BM80 (1200m)
#12 – Maddi Rocks @ $2.45 – Bet Now
Maddi Rocks picked them up and put them down with ease last time out. It was a terrific performance and she looks a good chance of winning again.
The daughter of Fastnet Rock needed a change of scenery after running in Sydney and she should go close again in Queensland.
Drawing barrier two is ideal and she should stalk the pace and kick strongly.
