Doomben horse racing tips

Race 1. (12:03) Written By Yearlings Handicap (1200m)

#1 – Capital Tower @ $3.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Capital Tower scored a win on debut at Doomben and the two-year-old colt handled conditions well.

The son of Capitalist scored by 1.8 lengths in soft conditions and we like his chances of repeating the dose.

Watch for any late betting moves with this runner.

Race 2. (12:38) Industry Country Cup (1600m)

#12 – Hi Harry @ $8.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Hi Harry comes off back-to-back second placings and he has the experience needed to win this race.

The eight-year-old owns six wins and 17 placings from 46 starts, so he’s no spring chicken and that’s a positive.

Punters get value odds, so put him on top.

Race 3. (13:13) XXXX Eagle Way Quality (2000m)

#1 – Caboche @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Chris Waller has a nice type on his hands with Caboche, who scored at Sunshine Coast impressively last time out.

The three-year-old held off a good field, and although he’s yet to race in the wet, the son of Vadamos is bred to handle moisture.

The odds make him a worthwhile bet.

Race 4. (13:48) Roku Gin Stampede 0MW (1110m)

#10 – Wall Street Tycoon @ $4.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Wall Street Tycoon is gunning for six straight wins after winning at Longreach. The seven-year-old is in a purple patch of form and we think it continues.

The country races can be tough to measure form, but all he can do is win. Carrying 55kg is another positive, so we’re not surprised by the betting support.

Race 5. (14:28) Sky Racing Winning Rupert Plate (1200m)

#1 – Tiger Heart @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Tiger Heart has been getting close without winning this season, but that could all change on Saturday.

The Tony Gollan-trained gelding hasn’t had much luck, but the two-time winner from six starts has the class edge over this field.

He handles the wet and the $2.80 could firm to around $2.

Race 6. (15:08) The Steven Sinclair Quality (2000m)

#3 – Wapiti @ $4.20 – Bet @ Sportsbet

There was plenty to like about Wapiti’s win at Sunshine Coast last start and he’s good enough to score again.

The five-year-old had a good run in transit, but he powered away to score by a half-length over Ligulate, which is paying $2.90 on Saturday.

We’ll take the better value with Wapiti.

Race 7. (15:48) Sky Racing Tatt’s Recognition (1350m)

#3 – The Harrovian @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

The Harrovian loves the sting out of the track and the 17-time winner could add to his tally.

He didn’t have the most successful season last time in work, but he faced some tough fields in Melbourne and Queensland.

The professional winner owns four fresh up wins, so we’re not leaving him out.

Race 8. (16:28) Eureka Stud Classic (1200m)

#7 – Miami Fleiss @ $6 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Miami Fleiss needs luck from the wide barrier of 19, but she’s not lacking the ability.

The four-year-old comes off a win at Doomben by 1.5 lengths and she has since added consecutive trial wins to her record.

The future is bright and she can handle the rise in class.

Race 9. (17:10) Tab George Moore Stakes (1200m)

#5 – Zoustyle @ $2.40 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Zoustyle is searching for three consecutive wins and his form at Doomben is outstanding.

The son of Zoustar is unbeaten in five starts at Doomben, so he loves the track and we wouldn’t be leaving him out of selections.

Money is coming for him and we expect more to come on race day.

Race 10. (17:48) Encryption Mode Plate (1200m)

#2 – Rhapsody Rose @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Punters get fair odds when backing Rhapsody Rose, who did the job easily at Eagle Farm last start.

The three-year-old is unbeaten in two attempts at Doomben and his win at Eagle Farm holds him in good stead.

Barrier 14 is our only worry, but he’s classy enough to overcome it.

Once again, all odds are with Sportsbet – our No. 1 rated bookmaker. You can join Sportsbet by clicking HERE.
