Doomben horse racing tips
Race 1. (13:18) Brisbane’s Summer Of Racing (1200m)
#5 – Subterranean – Bet @ Sportsbet
Subterranean is coming off a third placing at Sunshine Coast and we wouldn’t be overlooking that form.
The Matthew Dunn-trained two-year-old was only a half-length behind the winner and he could turn the tables with race experience.
A senior rider is in the saddle and punters should be confident.
Race 2. (13:53) Tab Country Stampede Final 0MW (1110m)
#8 – Muiron @ $3.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Muiron is a model of consistency after posting three consecutive wins and a recent second placing at Roma.
The four-year-old son of Brazen Beau was only a nose behind Another Sin, which is a good form guide in the country circuits.
Expect another solid effort from the favourite.
Race 3. (15:28) Gallopers Sports Club BM85 (1600m)
#2 – Tokoriki Lad – Bet @ Sportsbet
Tokoriki Lad is looking to post back-to-back wins after scoring by a nose at Sunshine Coast last time out.
The six-year-old deserved to win after some solid efforts and he is capable of stringing wins together now that he has broken through.
Getting a 2kg claim helps and he should be competitive once again.
Race 4. (15:03) TAB Country Cups Challenge 0MW (1600m)
#3 – Paniagua @ $3.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Paniagua is a professional winner in Cairns and with seven wins from 12 starts, he demands attention in this grade.
The four-year-old has rattled off six consecutive wins coming into this race, so his confidence couldn’t be any higher.
Punters have every right to be confident and we’re putting him on top.
Race 5. (15:43) Roku Gin Winning Rupert Plate (1200m)
#7 – Goldsborough – Bet @ Sportsbet
Goldsborough didn’t show his best last start at Sunshine Coast but he might have felt the pinch second-up from a spell.
He looked much better when winning at Doomben fresh up, where he held off the highly-talented Isotope.
We expect the three-year-old to get back to his best form this time around.
Race 6. (16:23) Queensland Is Good To Go Open (2000m)
#13 – Star of Michelin @ $6.50 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Value is with Star of Michelin, which scored a one-length win last start and gets in on the minimum here.
The four-year-old gelding is a professional five-time winner that went through a rough period, but he is classy at best.
His form at Doomben will need to improve but we’re keeping the faith.
Race 7. (17:03) Kidney Health Australia C6 (1350m)
#6 – Stuttering – Bet @ Sportsbet
Stuttering lost all chance by rearing last start, so punters should look to his previous form. The four-year-old is a five-time winner from 14 starts, so class is on his side.
He will need to sort his barrier manners out, but we are confident trainer Robert Heathcote will have him in good order.
With two wins on this track, Stuttering could get back to his best form.
Race 8. (17:43) Tab George Moore Stakes (1200m)
#8 – Jonker @ $2.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Jonker got back to winning form at Doomben last start after a long run of outs and he could continue on with it.
The 4.5-length win was an indication of what he can do when he’s right. Punters should be confident that he has found his confidence after that display.
The $2.80 is a fair price from bookmakers and that could shorten throughout the week.
Race 9. (18:18) XXXX Mode Plate (1200m)
#7 – Isotope @ $2.10 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Isotope was a tragedy beaten last start after blowing the start. However, she rattled home to finish second behind Goldsborough.
The daughter of Deep Field is a highly-talented winner of two from five starts and she has more wins in store.
Getting the inside draw helps and we’re expecting a big effort.
