Doomben free tips & form
Race 1. (13:55) BRC Maiden Plate (1350m)
#1 – American Cat to win – BET NOW
Tony Gollan lines up the four-year-old which has three placings from five starts and that’s much better form than most of this field.
He’s an All American gelding which ran 2.3 lengths behind the winner as a short-odds favourite last start but punters can get their money back here agaisnt an easier field.
His best form sees him clearing out to win easily.
Race 2. (14:30) Lunar New Year Raceday Maiden (1350m)
#4 – Peppi Le Few to win – BET NOW
Consistency is key with this three-year-old gelding which has now placed in six of his nine starts after placing in four consecutive races this season.
Liam Birchley trains the son of Pierro which has shown more than enough ability to cross the line first but he always finds one better. That could change here and given his recent form, he looks the one to beat.
Bookmakers won’t be offering big odds.
Race 3. (15:07) BRC Memberships Handicap (1050m)
#4 – Astrobaby to win – BET NOW
Looking to cap off two consecutive second placings is Astrobaby, which gets the services of Jeff Lloyd in the saddle.
The four-year-old by Court Command ran a length behind the winner at Ipswich two back before running 1.3 lengths behind them at Toowoomba.
Drawing an inside barrier is going to help and she should be right around the mark.
Race 4. (15:45) Tab C5 Handicap (1050m)
#1 – Basara to win – BET NOW
Basara is giving away weight to most of the opposition but he does get an apprentice in the saddle and she has the best form coming into this.
The four-year-old mare ran only two lengths behind a smart one last start and her form prior included a win at Ipswich. She also ran third at Eagle Farm behind Awesome Pluck and that form is going to bode well for this.
Close field on paper but class could prevail with Basara.
Race 5. (16:25) Girls Day Out C2 Handicap (1650m)
#5 – Coco Fashion to win – BET NOW
The three-year-old filly has hit top form this season with two wins from her last three starts, including a storming finish to win at Sunshine Coast last start.
She’s a quality type which could progress through the grades nicely and although she lacks Saturday class, this isn’t the strongest field she will ever face.
Stick with her for the meantime.
Race 6. (17:05) Paddyfest 2019 BM65 (1200m)
#6 – Six Stigma to win – BET NOW
Failed to make any impressive when running 10th at Sandown last start but that was some rise in class and dropping this level will help.
Prior to that he was a half-length winner at Seymour and with form behind some smart types in Victoria, dropping to midweek grade in Brisbane is only going to help his chances.
Unlikely to be at big odds with bookies.
Race 7. (17:45) Weddings At BRC C3 Handicap (1350m)
#1 – Remarkable Son to win – BET NOW
The well-named son of He’s Remarkable is looking to bounce back after running seventh in November last year and he has the quality to turn that around.
He’s a quality gelding which has won three of his seven starts, including a 4.3-length win at Sunshine Coast in June.
Having Jeff Lloyd in the saddle is a bonus and he should test them.
Race 8. (18:20) Sky Thoroughbreds Central C3 (1350m)
#2 – Sepoy Achieva to win – BET NOW
Scored a long overdue win last start at Ipswich and the Chris Waller-trained mare should be able to kick on with it now.
It was only her second win from 22 starts but the daughter of Sepoy had always shown talent against some nice types in Sydney and coming to Queensland was always going to help.
Looks set to score consecutive wins.
