Doomben free tips & form
Race 1. (11:27) Sky Racing Maiden (1350m)
#2 – Telecom Danewin – Bet Now
Three-year-old gelding Telecom Danewin ran a good race for second last start and he should only improve off that run.
The well-bred son of Fastnet Rock ran 2.3 lengths behind the winner but was making solid ground in the straight.
He has experience running in heavy conditions and that will help here.
Race 2. (12:02) BRC Memberships C5 Handicap (1200m)
#1 – Removal – Bet Now
Five-year-old gelding Removal is a consistent type which has won five of his 26 starts and an additional five placings.
The Smerdon-trained runner is coming off a close finish at Sunshine Coast on a heavy track, which he excels on. He has had five starts for two wins and two placings on a heavy track.
Gets an inside draw and every chance of winning this.
Race 3. (12:37) Country Music Raceday BM70 (1050m)
#2 – Helfuchi – Bet Now
Chris Munce lines up the four-year-old which is fresh up after a four-month break and her recent trial was solid enough.
The four-year-old mare has finished in the money in nine of her 16 starts, including a 1.8-length win at Sunshine Coast two starts back.
Gets the inside draw and some weight off its back.
Race 4. (13:12) Teddy Bears Picnic Raceday Handicap (1640m)
#4 – Addocarr – Bet Now
Addocarr has a good amount of speed and is capable of rebounding from a disappointing effort at Doomben last start.
The three-year-old gelding has only one win from nine starts, but he has been close with five placings.
His maiden win came two back at Gold Coast as a favourite and we’re expecting his odds to be slightly better value than that.
Race 5. (13:47) Alcyone Hotel Residences Maiden (1350m)
#1 – Dolly Spartan – Bet Now
Dolly Spartan is knocking on the door after three placings from four starts. The David Vandyke-trained filly finished off very nicely to run third at Doomben last start.
Her first two starts resulted in second placings at Sunshine Coast where she was only a length behind the winner on both occasions.
She’s a smart filly which has drawn well and should be figuring in the finish.
Race 6. (14:22) Big Screen On The Green R65 (2220m)
#5 – Mother To Race Her – Bet Now
Mother To Race Her scored an overdue win at Coffs Harbour last start and she has always had plenty of potential at this level.
She has been in the money in 11 of her 18 career starts and she could kick on with it now after breaking through last start.
Robbie Fradd is a good jockey to have in the saddle so treat with respect.
Race 7. (14:57) A Night In France (1640m)
#13 – Withering – Bet Now
Toby Edmonds lines up the three-year-old filly which has won one and placed in four from eight starts. That win came last time out at Eagle Farm by 1.3 lengths and she gets in nicely on the weights.
Having the retiring Jeff Lloyd in the saddle is ideal and he’ll be keen to kick home a winner with only days left on his career.
Should be right in the thick of the action.
Race 8. (15:32) BRC C2 Handicap (1350m)
#2 – Phobetor – Bet Now
Drawing wide will make it tricky for Phobetor but he’s a quality type on the rise.
The three-year-old gelding by Dream Ahead finished a close fourth at Eagle Farm last start, which came after a terrific 4.3-length win at Gold Coast.
He doesn’t quite handle the heavy track conditions but the track should stay in the soft range.
Race 9. (16:07) TAB Handicap (1350m)
#4 – Churning – Bet Now
Churning is churning away this season with a win and multiple third placings. The three-year-old filly drops in weight to 54kg for this and that’s a big asset.
Toby Edmonds has the daughter of Lonhro running nicely and we wouldn’t be surprised to see her fighting out the finish once again.
Each-way odds should be offered.
