We have expert betting tips for the card this Wednesday at Eagle Farm that features six quality betting races.
It’s a shortened card at Eagle Farm but there are excellent betting fields and we have our best value bets.
Eagle Farm horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (13:53) Tab Venue Mode Maiden (1200m)
#2 – Brilliantly – Bet @ Sportsbet
The four-year-old has been patiently handled to date and the daughter of Shamus Award could make a winning debut.
She has had two trials for two placings, including a third placing at Eagle Farm last time out behind Rutter. It’s a solid form guide and it’s not the only thing going in her favour.
Brilliantly gets the inside draw and she should use the rail to her advantage over this distance.
Race 2. (14:18) Wilko Building C4 Handicap (1300m)
#7 – Montez – Bet @ Sportsbet
Coming off a win at Beaudesert is Montez, who could handle the rise in class. The four-year-old gelding won by 1.8 lengths and he was well-backed on that occasion.
The son of More Than Ready owns four wins overall and dropping to 53.5kg is ideal. He owns a win and a placing over this distance, so those statistics read well.
He’s facing a tough field, but the weight advantage helps and that should bring him into contention at each-way odds.
Race 3. (14:53) Wilko Painting BM65 (1200m)
#2 – Dejanova – Bet @ Sportsbet
Dejanova hasn’t done much in two runs this campaign, but she might have needed the fitness.
The three-year-old filly by Stratum is a three-time winner at the distance and her form last campaign would be good enough to win this contest.
Drawing the inside barrier and getting 3kg off her back is ideal, so that could be enough to see her form turnaround in quick time.
It could pay to look for a betting push on race day.
Race 4. (15:28) Wilko Patios BM65 (1200m)
#5 – Kudu – Bet @ Sportsbet
Kudu is shooting for three wins this preparation and we wouldn’t be ruling out the three-year-old gelding.
The son of Spill the Beans scored three back at Sunshine Coast by a length before running fifth at Eagle Farm behind the talented Garoppolo.
He then dropped in grade and scored by a length on this track, which bodes well for another solid effort in these conditions.
Getting a claimer in the saddle helps and we’re confident of another big effort.
Race 5. (16:03) Wilko Painting BM70 (1400m)
#2 – Jetty – Bet @ Sportsbet
Jetty needed time to find his feet this preparation and that was a solid effort for fifth at Eagle Farm last time out.
The three-year-old son of Jet Spur is a two-time winner from 11 starts and although yet to win from four attempts at Eagle Farm, he owns three placings.
Drawing barrier four is ideal for a runner that likes to get cover. Punters should expect jockey Andrew Mallyon to position him nicely in the run and Jetty could do the rest.
Race 6. (16:38) Wilko Painting C1 Handicap (1400m)
#6 – Scissorhands – Bet @ Sportsbet
Looking to score back-to-back wins is Scissorhands, who broke maiden grades with a narrow win at Eagle Farm earlier this month.
The three-year-old filly capped off a solid effort to place at Gold Coast and she is a filly heading in the right direction.
Having senior rider Larry Cassidy in the saddle is a positive and punters should expect each-way odds available from bookmakers.
