Doomben horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (11:26) Tab Maiden (1350m)
#1 – Batangas Entry – Bet Now
Batangas Entry is getting close to a win after back-to-back second placings. The two-year-old ran second behind Eelloh and Corvo, so the form lines are good.
Facing a field of only five runners is ideal and aided by the inside draw, we’re expecting the son of Vancouver to be right there in the finish.
Race 2. (12:01) Eva Air Maiden Handicap (1350m)
#10 – Kaaydeh – Bet Now
The Chris Anderson-trained filly wasn’t disgraced when fifth at Gold Coast last start and her maiden win will come soon.
She finished second at Sunshine Coast prior to that and anything close to that run would see her finishing in the money.
Punters should get each-way odds.
Race 3. (12:36) Hygain Maiden Handicap (1350m)
#1 – Knight Mariner – Bet Now
Tony Gollan lines up the son of Tavistock that looked good winning a recent trial at Doomben.
The three-year-old ran second at Sunshine Coast in November and although he has been off the scene for seven months, he could return in fine order.
Watch for a betting push with this runner.
Race 4. (13:11) Raceatyourplace Handicap (1200m)
#8 – Belcoros Babe – Bet Now
Belcoros Babe won nicely at Doomben and that form has been franked by Roman Aureus winning on Saturday.
The three-year-old filly was well-backed in the latter stages of the market and it could pay to look at betting again.
Carrying 55kg is ideal and we fancy her chances.
Race 5. (13:46) Roku Gin C1 Handicap (1350m)
#3 – Valet – Bet Now
Valet has drawn wide in barrier 15 but he has ability and he’s good enough to overcome it.
The son of Not a Single Doubt scored a quality win at Ipswich last start and it came by four lengths. It showed his top-end ability and he’s only getting better.
We like the form lines coming into this race and each-way odds should be available.
Race 6. (14:21) Aqwa Constructions C1 Handicap (1350m)
#6 – Musicmaker – Bet Now
Musicmaker is getting close to another win after consecutive placings. The three-year-old filly was upset as the odds-on favourite last start, but she didn’t lose any admirers.
It was still a good effort at Doomben and she has winning experience on this track. It could be enough to see her cross the line in first again.
Race 7. (14:56) Fashionyourplace BM68 (1650m)
#13 – Rerun – Bet Now
Rerun is going for consecutive wins after scoring at Toowoomba last time out. He rises in class for this race, but he could provide punters with good odds.
Baylee Nothdurft takes the ride and the son of Reset has experience placing at Doomben. Expect something similar this time around.
It’s an open field so the odds should be generous.
Race 8. (15:31) The Village Kitchen Ascot C3 (1350m)
#6 – Liability – Bet Now
Liability has been a liability for punters this preparation but he has a win coming. The four-year-old ran second at Ipswich last start and he missed by only a nose.
It was an improved performance from the son of Redoute’s Choice and he was able to win two races when last in work.
Drawing barrier two could be enough to see him fighting out the finish.
Race 9. (16:06) Ascot Childcare Handicap (1200m)
#3 – Pure Pulse – Bet Now
Pure Pulse is knocking on the door after consecutive second placings and he should be winning shortly.
The Anderson-trained gelding has finished in the money in nine of his 15 starts and that’s a nice record for this level.
Barrier four is ideal and an in-form jockey rides.
