Doomben horse racing tips & form
Race 1. (14:27) Gallopers Sports Club Maiden (1630m)
#7 – Enchantingly – Bet Now
The three-year-old filly runs for Chris Waller, and she looks to have a maiden win coming soon. Her most recent run for second at Sunshine Coast was good, and it bodes well for this run.
Her form prior to that came in Sydney, so she has the class edge over this field and with 54.5kg on her back, she deserves to be well-respected.
Race 2. (15:03) Paddyfest 14 March Maiden (1200m)
#4 – Minjee – Bet Now
Robert Heathcote lines up the two-year-old filly that has won both trials in preparation for this run. She scored her first trial by 2.5 lengths before winning by five lengths.
It bodes well for a top debut effort and we wouldn’t be surprised to see her run as the odds-on favourite.
Watch for betting moves throughout the week.
Race 3. (15:38) Family Raceday 4 April Maiden (1200m)
#2 – Better Get Ready – Bet Now
Robert Heathcote has another quality debutante on his hands with Better Get Ready. The two-year-old colt has won two trials, with the first coming emphatically by seven lengths.
His most recent barrier draw was less convincing, but he wasn’t asked to do much. It shapes up well for a good run here, and much like his stablemate Minjee, betting will be key.
Race 4. (16:13) Souths Sports Club Maiden (1200m)
#7 – Dupie Doll – Bet Now
Dupie Doll ran well on debut when third at Gold Coast in 2018, but he has been off the scene for some time now.
The four-year-old looked good in a recent trial when running second at Eagle Farm, so he could return in fine order.
Punters should expect value odds.
Race 5. (16:48) Memberships @ BRC C4 Handicap (1350m)
#6 – Higher Love – Bet Now
Higher Love has already won three times this preparation and he could add another to his record. The five-year-old went close last start, and he should improve on that run.
Drawing barrier four should see him right in the thick of the action and the experience Dale Smith takes the ride.
Bookmakers should have generous odds on offer.
Race 6. (17:32) BRC Events C1 Handicap (1630m)
#10 – I’m Kate – Bet Now
The four-year-old brings back-to-back second placings into this race, so she’s knocking on the door. She has only one win from 11 starts, but she has gone close on multiple occasions.
She’s a daughter of Savabeel that ran well at Newcastle last start, and this level of racing shouldn’t be any harder than that.
Consider as an each-way chance.
Race 7. (18:00) Tab BM65 (1200m)
#7 – Soubrette – Bet Now
Soubrette is classy at best, as shown when winning by 1.5 lengths at Doomben last start. The four-year-old mare produced a big run fresh up when second, before ultimately storming home last time out.
It bodes well for another good run this Wednesday and from barrier four with a good jockey in the saddle, she should prove tough to beat again.
It’s a harder field this time in, but she should go on top of selections.
Race 8. (18:38) Eva Air C2 Handicap (1350m)
#8 – Maozi – Bet Now
Maozi is coming from Melbourne and her form there stacks up beautifully for this race. She has finished behind the likes of Heirborn, The Closer, and Sansom.
It’s hot form for a race like this and although she’s finding it tough to win races, she gets every chance in this race.
