Doomben free tips & form

Race 1. (13:13) LUCRF Super Maiden (2050m)

#2 – Undaunted – Bet Now

The Toby Edmonds-trained four-year-old looks a good chance of scoring an elusive maiden here at his 12th attempt.

A son of Snitzel, undaunted should have won a race by now but he keeps finding one or two better. He has six minor placings and having Jeff Lloyd in the saddle should help his chances.

Knocking on the door after three placings coming into this.

Race 2. (13:48) Baylee Nothdurft R65 Handicap (1350m)

#2 – Six Sigma – Bet Now

Four-year-old gelding Six Sigma has been backed and beaten his last couple but the son of Pierro looks well-placed to score his second career win here.

The Tony Gollan-trained runner ran second at Doomben two back as the $2.63 favourite before running 1.5 lengths behind the winner as the $2.88 favourite last start.

Brad Stewart returns to the saddle and his experience should help.

Race 3. (14:20) Racing QLD Marketing Maiden (1350m)

#7 – Home Scene – Bet Now

Home Scene hasn’t won at his first nine starts but the Chris Waller-trained gelding meets easier opposition here and could take advantage.

The son of Exceed And Excel ran 2.6 lengths behind the winner at Canterbury last start and running at midweek level in Queensland is going to make it easier for him.

Has form behind some smart city types and he could run at each way odds.

Race 4. (14:55) Nars Jackson Murphy Handicap (1110m)

#1 – Embattled – Bet Now

Two-year-old gelding Embattled ran second on debut at Doomben before running against a hot field where he ran seventh behind Neptune’s Spear.

That experience should help him here and the son of Time For War has been primed with a trial win at Sunshine Coast, which came against many of his rivals here.

Not an easy race with many debutantes but he has the best exposed form.

Race 5. (15:35) Nathan Fazackerley R65 Handicap (1350m)

#7 – Veranes – Bet Now

Chris Waller has two runners in this race but Veranes looks the best of his chances. The three-year-old filly has won one of her 11 starts but she still has upside and could her second win in Queensland.

A well-bred filly, she was a 1.8-length winner at Gold Coast two back before running third behind Buck Bay on this track. That’s strong form and she gets the weight advantage on a few of these.

Should be well-respected in a race like this.

Race 6. (16:10) TAB Apprentice Series C3 (1200m)

#8 – Tziporah – Bet Now

Couldn’t have been any more impressive when winning by four lengths at Gold Coast last start and the form out of that contest should stack up nicely.

The Edmonds-trained four-year-old has a professional record of three wins from six starts and although when she puts in a bad run it’s really bad, she has good consistency when right.

Gets an interesting rider chance but should be around the mark.

Race 7. (16:45) Jag Guthmann-Chester Handicap (1350m)

#4 – Speedgun – Bet Now

Impressive winner three-back at Ipswich when scoring by a half-length as a $13 chance and he hasn’t been too far away since.

He ran 1.3 lengths behind Pork And Beans at Gold Coast and fifth behind Buck Bay at Doomben last start. That form could get franked earlier in the day and from the inside barrier where he loves it, he’s a strong winning chance.

Bookmakers should be offering each way odds.

Race 8. (17:20) Racing QLD Training Dept C5 (1650m)

#2 – Constant Flight – Bet Now

Extremely consistent start to his career with seven starts for four wins and two placings. The son of Written Tycoon has showed good pace early on and he finished second behind recent winner Mishani Vaidra last start.

That’s city-class form which stacked up at the Jewel meeting on Saturday and that should bring him right into contention here.

Not expecting big odds.
