Doomben free tips & form
Race 1. (11:25) Valmont Coatings C6 (1200m)
#4 – Awake The Stars – Bet Now
Toby Edmonds lines up the five-year-old mare which has six wins from 20 starts to this name.
Her most recent run came at Group 3 level at Newcastle and her two subsequent trials have been good placings at Gold Coast.
She owns plenty of ability and she might be an underrated type in this race.
Race 2. (12:00) Mitty’s C6 Handicap (1200m)
#7 – Ef Troop – Bet Now
The three-year-old might be lacking a bit of confidence but he doesn’t lack ability. He’s a two-time winner of more than $300,000 and he looks the goods as a juvenile.
His recent form has come in some tough races in Melbourne and Sydney, so he’s going to enjoy coming back to Doomben where he has won two of his three starts.
Recent trial winner by 3.3 lengths on this track so keep safe.
Race 3. (12:35) Ambassador Travel BM80 (1350m)
#7 – Greywolf – Bet Now
Greywolf got the job done at Ipswich on a heavy track last start and it could run well here at odds.
Punters should be getting double-figure odds for the five-year-old which has won six of his 38 starts, but also has 15 placings.
He’s not the most attractive betting proposition but he could add value.
Race 4. (13:10) Suez Queensland Day Stakes (1350m)
#12 – Multaja – Bet Now
Multaja was a good thing beaten last start at Hawkesbury after getting too far back during the run. This race looks ideal for the James Cummings-trained runner.
Her two runs prior to that resulted in wins at Hawkesbury and Randwick. Both of those were top efforts and carrying 55kg is going to make her very tough to beat.
Should be paying short odds.
Race 5. (13:50) Rough Habit Plate (2000m)
#1 – Dealmaker – Bet Now
Chris Waller lines up the class runner of this field. Dealmaker has a Group 2 placing and multiple good finishes at Group 1 and 2 level.
He might only be a one-win three-year-old but he comes into this having finished second at Randwick last start and that’s a good form guide for this.
Drawn well and James McDonald takes the ride.
Race 6. (14:30) Champagne Classic (1200m)
#1 – Dubious @ $4 – Bet Now
Dubious didn’t fire in the Golden Slipper but his form prior was good and he looms as a big chance.
Looked the goods when winning his first two starts and his two subsequent placings came against quality opposition.
Good each-way odds on offer considering his talent.
Race 7. (15:10) Newington Farm Members Handicap (1600m)
#10 – Gem Song – Bet Now
Gem Song was never going to lose that race last start at Eagle Farm and he did the job well by 2.3 lengths.
He’s a son of Your Song, which has five wins from nine starts and a few other positives in his favour. Those include the inside draw and only having 54kg on his back.
Tough field here but he’s rightfully the favourite and should run well.
Race 9. (16:30) Kirin Chairman’s Handicap (2000m)
#7 – Our Libretto @ $5 – Bet Now
Former Kiwi runner which has adapted to live in Australia nicely. Punters should overlook her most recent performance at Randwick where she was too far back.
Her form prior included a nice win at Caulfield over the same distance and if she can put in a similar performance she should be winning again here.
