Doomben horse racing tips & form

Race 1. (14:53) Tab Maiden Plate (1200m)

#6 – Salina – Bet Now

Team Edmonds lines up the three-year-old filly which improved to run second at Ipswich last start.

The well-bred daughter of Redoute’s Choice has improved with every run, which culminated with a career-best showing last start.

Drawing barrier five should see her settle close and having Robbie Fradd in the saddle is a positive.

Race 2. (15:28) Memberships BRC Maiden (1200m)

#3 – Chicago Bull – Bet Now

We’re going to give Chicago Bull one more chance after he produced a much better showing for second last start.

The Tony Gollan-trained colt has had experience racing in Melbourne and Sydney, but was mostly disappointing.

However, his form since arriving in Queensland has improved and if he gets some luck from the draw, he should be right around the mark.

Race 3. (16:03) Big Screen On The Green C3 (1350m)

#7 – Ziemba – Bet Now

Ziemba won his first two races by a collective margin of 2.5 lengths and he wasn’t beaten far last time out.

That came in July and he should be able to find form quickly, like he did when last in work. His win on debut came by 2.3 lengths after settling on the speed.

He got too far back in the run last start, which didn’t help his chances. Expect him to settle closer from barrier four with James Orman in the saddle and we’re confident of his chances.

Race 4. (16:38) Society Party C3 (1350m)

#4 – Bonanova’s Dream – Bet Now

Matthew Dunn lines up the four-year-old mare which has looked good early on in her career.

The well-bred daughter of Redoute’s Choice scored an impressive win at Ipswich last start and we’re expecting her to continue in that vein of form.

It was her second career win from only five starts and with Jim Byrne in the saddle, he should get a nice run throughout.

Top chance in this.

Race 5. (17:13) Souths Sports Club Maiden (1350m)

#9 – Sizzling Power – Bet Now

Tony Gollan trains the three-year-old which is getting close to breaking maiden grades and it could come here.

The daughter of Sizzling finished second at Doomben last start and was only a short-head behind the winner.

She’s only going to get better with the run and she won’t have any excuses jumping from barrier three.

Should be well-backed to win.

Race 6. (17:50) Weddings at BRC C4 Handicap (1660m)

#6 – Miss Sara – Bet Now

Punters should get good money with Miss Sara, which hasn’t won at her last four starts, but looked good prior to that.

The four-year-old mare scored three consecutive wins prior to that and she has real improvement to come.

Drawing barrier 10 is going to make it harder but carrying 55.5kg on her back will help her chances.

Will run at each-way odds and dropping in grade is ideal.

Race 7. (18:30) BRC Christmas Gift Guide Handicap (1350m)

#7 – Stella Ombra – Bet Now

Stella Ombra is struggling to win a race but this would be a good time to do it.

The Kelly Schweida-trained seven-year-old is an eight-time winner which has 18 minor placings to his name.

It has been a long time between drinks but there are some things in his favour here. He gets the inside draw and a light weight on his back.

He has won three times on this track and we wouldn’t be overlooking his chances.
